Note
(injured)

Yep, it's the fun times again...did get out for a slow walk along the river with M though and, after befriending a cat sunning itself on the footpath, I managed to finally get M to say I would be allowed to get a cat so it was a pretty successful walk!

Road Bike 2:00:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

On the tandem over to Sumner, up Evans Pass out to Godley Head and back then down Mt Pleasant and home. Was windy and quite cold along the tops. I've also definitely overdone it with my hand this week at work/trying to scrawl xmas cards (stupid stupid idea) so I could barely hold the drum brake. Almost no grip strength left. Must really NOT be that stupid with writing again. Not worth it.

Finally got around to getting a new seat for the tandem. Seems okay so hopefully this is the end of the horrible pain I was getting.

Putting out/bringing in controls 2:45:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310 (grey)

Bringing in controls with Neroli and Emily. Non-stop gossiping as usual! Well, until I departed them to do the top loop while they bashed around in the bush. Feeling pretty good really but not much motivation to run up anything steep and my back is really not all that happy.

Rogaine race (Christmas Rogaine) 2:59:00 [4]
(injured) shoes: Altra Lone Peak 1.5

Good times bashing around with Lara. Felt pretty tired to start with then warmed into it. We had a fairly relaxed pace really so Lara must have been feeling tired! Missed 5 controls (tried to get #32 just before the end but decided there probably wasn't enough time about halfway there). Pretty easy to find apart from #91 (I should have paid more attention to where it was last year!) and #63. Feet were still loving my shoes except they aren't so good in mud.

Slipped on a piece of metal in the stream right at the end which was a bit painful. Put my back out a little bit but somehow managed to land on my left side first which saved my wrist from getting the worst of the impact so that was good.

Road Bike warm up/down 45:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

All the way out to Tai Tapu for the time trial tonight (reverse course). SO far! I had a little tantrum on the back!! Poor Michael...
6 PM

Road Bike (Old Tai Tapu Rd TimeTrial) 23:31 [3] 14.7 km (1:36 / km)
(injured) shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

Reverse course. Hard hard work and the turn around was a bit tight for us so we had to slow to slower than a snail to get round! Legs were not happy at all to start but warmed into it.
7 PM

Road Bike warm up/down 42:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

Home again with Tane drafting some others for a while which was nice.

Run 36:59 [3]
(injured) shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 7

Along the river and up some random stairs and all that...checking out the new neighbourhood. Legs are tired today funnily enough (the ride to work might be short but riding the tank was so hard today!) but they did feel a bit better afterwards.
