Run 3:13:09 [3]
(injured) shoes: Salomon S-Lab Speed

Oh lord, it's been a little while since I've needed rescuing on a run before. I tried so hard to get myself back to my bike but I'd been banging up against the wall from the very beginning then foolishly decided by the Bellbird that since I was so shattered I'd go down the backside of the hills because I always need to walk round there. Got lost and confused. Had to backtrack. Had to sit down for a while at a couple of points too. Getting back up the hill required endless dragging of the feet! Need more sleep and a sensible brain. Hopefully I don't feel so unwell tomorrow.

(injured) shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

Riding out to Tai Tapu at "high speed" to meet Katherine and M then cruising back to town after delicious smoothies followed by mad thrashing up the hill to the kiwi by which point I felt exhausted so it was a bit more cruisely round the tops, down Mt Pleasant and home to pizza and chocolate raspberry pie. Excellent post-ride food!

Morning fun up Huntsbury and the mtb track next to the road then round Mt Vernon and down Farm Track. Was all good until the lady who told me that the city needs to burn, everyone needs to burn. Was mildly terrified after that and got a bit panicked!!

Cruising the mean streets with M on the tandem as we were too tired to time trial.

MTB 7:00:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Shimano WM64

In contrast to yesterday the wind had picked up rather a lot over night and it was tough work to start with...until it got ridiculous and I was terrified and started having a panic attack. I really thought we were going to need to use the beacon or something to get us out of there but M is amazing and managed to get us and both bikes down the hill safely so we could start riding again. Hooked onto the rail trail at Oturehua where we proceeded to smash it to Wedderburn which was quite fun as we had favourable winds for once. Then along the road and all that jazz back to Naesby. It would have been an awesome day if the wind hadn't been so crazy strong.
