Orienteering 1:23:05 [4] *** 8.3 km (10:01 / km)
ahr:165 max:175 spiked:21/23c shoes: VJs

Midland Champs in Sherwood. A loooong way, not helped by 2.5km to the start, & then picking up the course 4 map instead of the course 6 map & having to go back to the start to get the right map when I realised. Luckily course 4 had a relatively short number 1, but it was still 3.36 into my run before I picked up my map...
Pleased to be able to keep going to the end without dropping speed off, & the bearings worked well for me. Control flow wasn't bad, but planning ahead could do with some practice for some of the longer legs - was tricky to find the time on the control-pick sections to look at route choices that were coming up. Pleased with the routes I took, 5-6 & 20-21 were definitely worth heading out to the paths for.

Sheralee Bailey 67, Sarah Noot 70, Catherine Hughes 79. Happy for now.

Very, very needed!

Swimming - I hate swimming 55:00 [2]

X-training.
Haven't forgotten how to swim, and actually quite enjoyed myself - glad I did this rather than mountain biking.
Mostly breast stroke, the rest a slow front crawl.
Never stopped for more than 10-15 seconds at the end of a length, so probably did well over 40 lengths.

Run 28:28 [3] 2.17 mi (13:07 / mi) +120m 11:12 / mi
ahr:156 max:170 shoes: Adidas Durano

Not quite the 70 minute run I was supposed to do, but physically didn't have 70 minutes spare in which to run, so decided to put some up in, instead.
Initially went out to Seven Springs to do the Switchback/Black Hills loop, but when I got out to start running, the torch was dead, so I sacked that plan. Quite relieved, really, there were 2 cars there with "punters", & I felt a little conspicuous!
Christmas pressie jacket seems fab, even in the rain/drizzle. Very soggy, & even the replacement torch was dim, so struggled more to keep pushing on the downhills than I did on the up, just because of the visibility.
Felt good, but defo need a visit to Judith.

Off out to the club dinner - stretching can wait until tomorrow!

Run 41:06 [2] 5.4 km (7:37 / km) +60m 7:13 / km
ahr:147 max:170 shoes: Adidas Durano

Took advantage of Alex & Harry being here when I got back from Manchester to sneak out for my allotted 40 minutes easy.
Thicker socks than Tuesday meant tighter trainers, causing painful feet & calves, so had a stop at the post office to loosen everything off & then it was less painful, but didn't really feel like easy running - probably just down to a tough few days.

Run intervals 44:00 [5] 5.8 km (7:35 / km)
ahr:152 max:173 shoes: Adidas Durano

Round the very soggy football/rugby/lacrosse pitches at Fallowfields after day 1 of the FMERSA. Was meant to be 10x2 on 2 off, but stomach decided that was never going to happen. At least I got out! Managed 5 reps. 85 breaths in 2 minutes.
Made up of 8.37 w/u, 5 x 2 min on (370, 413, 399, 407 and 387m). Would like to think the variation was because of the strong heading! 13.23 w/d.
