Note

Rest day.

Spent the afternoon belaying the Hollys (not sure of correct grammar on that one!) and then went for a walk with Dutchy, Stodge, Liz and the Downings while Simon was pied piper to our kids.

Orienteering race 28:57 [4] 2.7 km (10:43 / km)

JK relays. Chasing Men with Judith and Gemma.
Clean run.
Didn't gain us any places, but didn't lose us any, either.

Orienteering race 48:03 [3] 4.6 km (10:27 / km) +105m 9:23 / km
shoes: VJs

Thunder and lightening on the start line, but visibility was fine and it never got too wet to be unpleasant.
Shame about the assembly location - it felt like the course finished at about no 7 and the rest was dead running.
Clean run.
3/27, 2nd Brit, Becky 42.30. 3rd overall, which isn't bad for someone who has spent the winter eating all the pies and doing not a lot.

Orienteering race 1:00:21 [3] 5.2 km (11:36 / km) +115m 10:27 / km
shoes: VJs

Parallel error on no 1 (simplifying the wrong reentrant) and so close on no 8, otherwise hit everything spot on.
Funniest moment was a very, very top W60ish who was on the same course and who had been running like a bit of a hare to my tortoise for a few controls stopped me 3/4 of the way to no 6 to ask where we were before mistaking the large craggy whole for a much bigger one and disappearing off into the distance after I told her I didn't have a clue... I was changed before she finished :)
4/30, 2nd Brit, Becky Osborn 52.02.

Orienteering race 17:22 [4] 1.9 km (9:08 / km) +50m 8:05 / km
shoes: Adidas Durano

Nothing too technical or tricky but good fun and nice overtaking people because of technique :)

13/45, Heather Hartman 14.54, Sophie 16.57

Note

Walked home from lunch at the Bacon Buttie Shop, and then later on, walk over Oat & Broc Hills with Stodge.
Only a few small bracken shoots in 1 sheltered area, so a few weeks before I need to go bracken-bashing on Brereton Spurs.
