Note

Rest day - much needed, struggled up the stairs to the office this morning!
Plans for tomorrow afternoon and the weekend in place, though :) My legs are about to get battered!

Note

Full-on non-stop, no codes or descriptions and hundreds of controls with a 1:1250 map. If you got one wrong it was a 30 second penalty. Cumulative time for 3 qualifiers put the top 4 into a head to head final, with everyone else then competing for the minor places.
In the Womens Open I was never going to be in the top 4, but still ran hard to make sure I was the fastest female in the house :)
Only managed a clean run in the 3rd qualifier, 1 mistake in the final (the wrong one at 24).
Brilliant fun, would work well in Victoria Park?

Orienteering race 8:03 [4] 1.1 km (7:19 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

13 (didn't punch it) & 19 (went to the wrong side of the tree).

Orienteering race 7:29 [4] 1.0 km (7:29 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

2 (got distracted by a rootstock) and 9 (didn't punch?).

Orienteering race 7:12 [4] 1.0 km (7:12 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

Clean :)

Orienteering race 11:02 [4] 1.3 km (8:29 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

Felt like the time should have been faster, but my untidiest race. Didn't see the line going to 2 and started heading to the maze before doing an about-turn, was expecting to be going back to the tree for no 15 after the loop and headed up the hill before correcting, struggled with the approach to the maze (which they re-structured between the qualifiers and the final) the first time as I used the enlargement but was 90 degrees out around it, then went to the wrong tree for no 24.
All in all, was beaten by Stodgelett who I'd been soundly thrashing all morning. Still brilliant fun, and it was a great weekend. Legs wasted

Orienteering race 53:15 [3] 5.3 km (10:03 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

No major numpty moments, but odd bits here & there where I could have saved time. Kept going to the end, so happy with that.
Really enjoyed it.

Warm down was a trip up the Shard and hours of walking the sights of London!

Orienteering 26:51 [4] 2.2 km (12:12 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

Night sprint around Imperial College.
Knew the levels were going to be tricky and took forever to get no 4, but in that time worked out how it was mapped, which was helpful.
Still don't know if I could have gone through at ground level between 5 & 6 and decided not to risk it and just ran around.
Loved it :)

Orienteering 36:28 [3] 4.4 km (8:17 / km)
shoes: Adidas Durano

Wildwood Tuesday night.
Tried to go hard from the start and lasted about 17 minutes of hard effort, then just hung on to the end as best I could spurred on by seeing Tom heading to 19 as I was heading to 22. Just managed to stay ahead of him.
Bring on London at the weekend :)
