Great spring conditions ski at Georgian Nordic with Etoile. Once again we had the entire trail system to ourselves. Fantastic grooming.
The Waddtage "mud room meets man cave" is taking shape. The official Gula Stigen records sign (thanks to Isak for the idea) is now on the wall of fame.
What a difference a day makes. Great work by the groomers break up the ice making for very good skate ski conditions. A little chilly. Stuck to the Lynx trail while Etoile skied the short lynx.
Being the only person at Georgian Nordic (clubhouse closed) it wasn't a good day for an epic fall. Wiped out on the long lynx with my right hip taking most of the impact and my head and right arm the rest. Feeling a bit woozy and being alone I decided to cut the ski short and play it safe.
Note
Etoile and I started watching the OA. Awesome. And it is clearly filmed in the Harriman area (even though it was supposed to be Russia in one scene) so hard not to want to go orienteering when you see the beautiful forests and hills of that amazing park.
Etoile said I was crazy when I stopped Netflix and pushed rewind and said "I've been here .... that;s Harriman". So we looked up on the internet and sure enough I was right.
I wonder how many orienteers have awesome photographic memories?
Cold and icy ski at Georgian Nordic. Lynx was in pretty decent shape for skating but terrible for classic (which is what Heather Smith was attempting - oops). Conditions were fast and I found stability tough but then realized at the end that I had used Emma's skis by mistake. Faile. Hope to ski all week but 5-10cm
of fresh snow would really help.
