Note

42nd Annual Hamilton Schools Adventure Running Challenge is this Wednesday. The race is organized by Ray Kitowski - the latest winner of the Keith French Memorial HKF Service Award (lifetime membership). He arranged for payment of a brand new map (which looks awesome and is long overdue) using profits from recent years.

Not being on the DGL board anymore I asked Ray what the participation numbers were looking like for this year. His response:

"Numbers are down from our 2014 peak. Looks like we will only have 1149 this year but thats about the same as the last few years"

When you have now organized about a half dozen races over 1000 participants like Ray has only he would add the word 'only' before the number 1149 when it comes to participation.

To Jerseyville'ish and back with Sudden and Tarno. Well half way with Tarno because he got a flat and we had no pump or extra tube. Faile. So Sudden and I left him there.

Note

So Flying Pig M21 middle, long, and 2xsprint were all won by either Danish Dynamite or Jan Erik. And this weekend Danish Dynamite was second overall in M21 at WestPoint. Not bad for an 18 year old (or is he still 17?). Great job DD. Proud of your performances. #ItstartedwithARK

SMT on the cross bike while Trav, Tarno, Milla and AG! ran. The DV was stunningly beautiful as always.

Not as much damage in the DV as expected but still a lot in places where culverts were absent or clearly too small. DV trails need bigger culverts and/or on trail log water diverters as these big storms are going to happen more often.

This hurt. It shouldn't. With the stressful and difficult grant writing behind me its time to get into consistent and tough training again...but maybe wait until after tomorrow's SMT.
