Running 20:34 [5] 2.0 mi (10:17 / mi)
(sick) shoes: Wicked Cool Asics

I felt pretty good for the first mile, but things got tough after that. My lungs are still trying to get back in good form, and my leg muscles have been very sore, but I should expect that. We bought some Aleve for good measure...which was a great idea! I was thinking I may have pushed myself too hard my first week back, but I have to work hard to get where I want to be. I am still thankful God has allowed me to get out there at all!

Exercise Bike 30:00 [3] 6.0 mi (5:00 / mi)
max:156 weight:194lbs (sick)

I went to the 58th Street gym, which is now run by 4ID, and I was disappointed they did not check my profile paper, since now I actually have permission to use the gym during PT hours! I felt pretty good on the bike, and it is a nice cardio alternative to running. My whole body is still sore from weight training and running. My quads are killing me, and the Extra Strength Tylenol is fight back.

Running 21:51 [4] 2.0 mi (10:55 / mi)
weight:191lbs (sick) shoes: Wicked Cool Asics

This was my second run on the "return tour" and my first completion of 2 miles. It soudns pathetic, but I am just happy to be running again. I ran the III Corps parade field track, and it was great to be back there.

Weight Lifting 30:00 [2]
(sick)

First time back in the gym, and I am certain I will feel this later. I am trying to lose some weight, so that I can fit into the suit I bought for job interviews. I worked all upper body today, since I am busy destroying my legs with getting back into running shape.

Running 13:53 [4] 1.25 mi (11:06 / mi)
weight:193lbs (injured) shoes: Wicked Cool Asics

This was my very first run after finishing chemotherapy. I am blessed in that I am even alive, let alone running again. I am 20 pounds heavier, and my lungs have sustained some damage from the treatments, so I should not be expecting to run fast soon. I went with my wife and son to the park, and I ran for the first time in a long time. I identified a few meets I can make with NTOA and HOC, and Lord-willing, I will make it to a few. I still have to undergo radiation therapy, but hopefully that will not be too tough on my body. I plan on being in tip top shape for the Jones State Forest Score-O...the frist meet I entered since I left West Point. I want to win that one, and then make a good showing at the SR2 near Dallas.
