Teva Adventure Race - Perth
Swimming 30:00 [3] 1.5 km (20:00 / km)
Swim in Dunsborough as part of the Anaconda training weekend. Neck was quite painful at times but I think the rotation loosened it up a fair bit. Got some vestibular symptoms towards the end, which made me feel off colour for the rest of the day.
Kayak 50:00 [3] 6.0 km (8:20 / km)
shoes: Hayden Molokai
Paddle from Dunsborough boat ramp supposedly to Bunbker Bay. It was my first time on the ocean with the Hayden and I was already feeling under the weather a little. Fell out six times before I decided it was to choppy for me and turned around. I think I may have chipped off some of my "growth" of bone that I have near my left elbow when I fell out one time. I have broken this before and unfortunately I have the same symptoms again. Hopefully this time the growth will not heal back, but rather necrose and not be a problem any more. In the meantime, the bruising looks awesome and its bloody annoying.
Offroad MTB ride 2:00:00 [2] 20.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Scott Scale 40
Ride from Bunker Bay to Dunsborough via the course for the Anaconda with 50 or so other cyclists on the course familiarisation. I wasn't feeling crash hot by the time I started the ride but getting back on the bike made me feel better. My neck seemed to do OK until someone road into it when I was bending down to pick up my sunnies that I had dropped.
Very slow ride with little physical exertion needed (probaly perfect for me at this stage). Unfortunately, I cam off agin on a log roll over and corked my left quad pretty well.
To put icing on the case, abdominal complaints haunted me all weekend, only to get worse that night. For a pretty cruisy weekend, I'm now in a world of hurt.
