Spin session. Concentrated on 30sec sprints for the most part with 15-30 sec recovery.
Gym warm up/down (Stretching for knee) 15:00 [0]
Did some figure 8's and crossovers before stretching. Turning to the left is the sore issue right now.

Crossover and figure 8 balance training for knee + some stretching.

Still hurts when twisting it or changing direction.

Quite a sore session at the PT today with a lot more sideways exercise including figure 8's round the cones. held up OK but still hurts if moved in the wrong direction.

Spin on the new bikes at the Y. Felt fine although the sprints made me a bit tired. Knee held up fine on the standing up too.

Running reverse, got off the hill OK and a beautiful gentle flight down. Over pretty quickly but a lovely day for flying.

Paul had a nice tandem flight with Todd.

Failed running reverse, failed running reverse and slip on my ass then finally a good forward launch. Dropped a bunch of height at launch and clipped the trees, damn close to hitting the big pine trees but got up out of the way OK. Good landing and again a great day for flying.

Very quick swim at Y. Front crawl is OK but knee hurts like crazy treading water or doing the breast stroke.

Some stretching stuff for the knee.

Snowshoe 5:30:00 [2]+600m
Snowshoe from Top silver Fir to Mt Catherine. Rest of the folk went boarding / skiing. Not great tour but quite nice snow and hardly saw a soul. Totally whacked at the end.

Knee hurt occassionally so good job I didn't board.

Doc today said I have Grade 1 MCL which is good, recovery should be quickish...

Went to PT today, knee a bit tender in afternoon. Tomorrow is MRI day.

This lack of exercise or activity is killing me - I hate it...

10 mins epiptical - got a bit tender so stopped.

Eliptical, really only to get range of motion back but it didn't hurt so went fairly quickly. Knee is healing quickly and I've got much more motion but there is still no lateral strength and any sideways movement hurts like crazy.

Wildside on Summit west for a powder fest. Had some great fresh tracks for about 45 mins then some decent lines for an hour then blew out my knee, see injury note.

Sprained Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) which puts me MIA for 3-4 weeks. This is shitty, and quite depressing since my brother is here next week for a ski holiday - needless to say he ain't pleased...

Against Mike V. I won 2-1 but only by a whisker. He had 2 match points so quite nice to get the W.

Felt quite fresh but both made a bunch of stupid mistakes.

Great day at Kendall RIdge with Matt, RVG, MC and Eric. Sun came out on the skin up through the trees. A couple nice laps off the ridge opposite the Kendall lakes and home on the road. Snow was pretty good quality with most bottomless stuff with the odd ice chuck / crust area. Stability was good too. Took a bad left shortcut off a switchback and ended up down in Gold Creek eventually after negociating some shitty crusty uphill/downhill stuff. Took me 1 hr extra to get out with that nav mistake and worked me really hard, I'm knacked tonight! If I'd looked at the map it would have been obvious not to take the route I did. Ended up having to don skins again and hack my way out!
