It is amazing how rapidly one's condition deteriorates if one doesn't keep pushing one's physical limits. I did an incline of 10.0 for an hour back in December. It was tough, but I did it. Today, I stopped after 45 minutes at an incline of 8.0.

I'm sure I can improve my conditioning rapidly, esp. if I drop back below 180 pounds again. But it is instructive (and a bit depressing) to note that one really does have to keep training pretty hard, or one's performance gains moderate in only a few months.

I certainly have a nice baseline of conditioning from which to improve versus when I started as flabby couch potato about a year ago. Still, at age 40, I'm going to have to really stay motivated until I get my bionic limbs from Amazon.com.

Managed to eat chilli and then work out IMMEDIATELY afterwards with no sign of urticaria. The mystery deepens.

Ran sprint intervals to top up to 1,000 calories for the night and improve my balance, strength, speed, and endurance.

Did 90 seconds at a 5 minute mile pace; 2 minutes at a 6 minute mile pace; 2 more minutes at a 6 minute mile pace; and walked in between at speed = 4.0. Did a small incline at end to make sure I got to 285 within 30 minutes.

Did I mention that I love that Lena Heady?
