The 9.0 incline is a new recent performance high. I think a 10.0 incline is the highest I was ever able to do. The last 10 minutes were pretty tough. I will keep it at 9.0 for a few more sessions before stepping it up again. My performance gains seem to be non-linear right now, and every week is bringing new and very tangible progress. As the weigh falls off, I expect to be able to get back up 10.0 and then to exceed it. At 170 lbs, I ought to be able to do a 12.5 incline at 4 mph.

Managed to get throught 2 Cato policy papers and half a New Scientist when the treadmill went into warm down because an hour was already up! Absolutely killed it tonight. Didn't even sweat as much as usual. Body has already adjusted to incline 8.5. Damn that was fast. Time to bump it up to incline 9.0 tomorrow night.

Fairly tough during last 10 minutes, esp. after yesterday's difficult session. Will need to stay at this level for at least another week to build up endurance. Left knee feeling a little wobbly/grindy. Emmy got through a full hour at Incline = 2.0 and Speed = 4.0 in her running shoes (as opposed to her hiking boots) without breaking once. She said she felt pretty good during the full hour. And that's the very first time she's been able to do that without a break. On Tuesday, we'll step her up to incline 2.5 and see if she can do that for an hour.
