Back super stiff for first hour. Pavement was better.

Did some loops around old Forest Hill.

Sunday Dec 23

Road Bike 2:45:00 [4]
Vets - 10 to start inc Vic and Mo.
No one went with me on 1st sprint
4 down Iona - nothing crazy
Lead out final stretch with Mic on my wheel - keep him off with an early sprint.
No one on bridge.

Spine stiff but no sharp pain. Hams stiff.

Saturday Dec 22

Mountain Running 1:45:00 [3]
Grouse Gr - untimed - lots of snow - bottom half coming down was sketch.

Met up with FC, Car and Mart doing Avi drills on top.

Lower spine was brutal half way up - but feels great a few hours after coming down.

Thursday Dec 20

Running 1:30:00 [2]
Lower Back - easy run

Wednesday Dec 19

Running 15:00 [2]
Lower Back - had to quit

Monday Dec 17

Downhill Skiing 4:00:00 [3]
Skiing all day - but some waits - and moderate intensity.

Whistler side. 42cm of new snow in previous 48hrs. Peak and Harmony opened mid day - had several nice double runs.

Lower back hurt for 1st half of day - handful of vitamin-I did the trick.

Sunday Dec 16

Road Bike 2:30:00 [3]
Missed Vets.
Whytecliff Park - OK pace

Saturday Dec 15

Running 1:15:00 [4]
First Tempo in a couple of months. Run with TN and Hend with maps. Pace was hard, but TN had to take it easy due to a race next day. Legs were tired - but never really faded. Legs and lungs felt OK until TN dropped the hammer over the last couple hundred yards.

Friday Dec 14

Running 45:00 [2]
Easy run with TN. Feet quite painful to start.

Thursday Dec 13

Alpine Touring 2:00:00 [3]
Slow start due to packing. Met up with a German and a Pole. Blackcomb side. Intended to head into Bodybag Bowl. Decided to turn back at first saddle. Pole was having difficulty climbing and weather was near whiteout. Fun powder skiing down Blackcomb Glacier.

Had sides of boots blown out previous day - way, way, way better.
Downhill Skiing 2:00:00 [3]
Some fun steep routes including Spanky's Ladder which requires short boot hike past the last chair. Not super steep - but varied terrain - hope to come back next time.

Wednesday Dec 12

Alpine Touring 6:30:00 [3]
Whistler side again. A little more cautious due to Moderate Avalanche warnings. Skins came out of pack during some tree skiing which made for an interesting boot search on W side of Singing Pass. Similar route to Sunday with different ski-out down Flute Bowl.

Tuesday Dec 11

Downhill Skiing 6:00:00 [3]
Inbounds day with HG and Mark C. Skied Whistler. Nothing too crazy. Ended day with some nice bowl powder skiing.

Skied on the Salomons. Shaped skis taking some time to get used to. Miss the old 210s...

Monday Dec 10

Alpine Touring 7:30:00 [3]
Blackcomb side. Best day by far.

Past Blackcomb Glacier - to a enormous bowl of untouched powder. Really fun powder skiing to lake. Up W side of mnt and back to bowl - up E of Decker, steep down - E of Trory to south ridge of Mt. Patisson. From there a ridge can be boot packed to the summit of Patisson where a sweet 50+ degree chute takes you back to the Trory/Patison bowl - saved for another time. Traverse across N side of Trory to S side of Decker. Decided not to drop into Decker Bowl due to 10-15 foot drop in to mystery slope. Traverse around S was a bit sketchy... at one point HG felt it necessary to declare... "Make your turns!... or you're finished!... "... ha - no pressure. Slope was super steep and got worse before cliffing out to trees then rocks. Ten jump turns before a long traverse and boot scramble to bottom ridge of bowl. Skin to top of Bodybag bowl. Ski down wasn't great powder - to ski out - and end to an awesome day.

Used downhill boots - much better.

Sunday Dec 9

Alpine Touring 6:00:00 [3]
First time on AT. Skiing with HG - fantastic powder skier.

Whistler side - Musical Bumps - up E side of Singing pass. Boot high powder skiing. Non radical terrain - some tree skiing.

(Scarpas ripped up feet)

Saturday Dec 8

Note
Scattered training since last log. Form got quite bad. Slight improvement in the last couple of weeks including two rides to Horseshoe that felt like training rides. No Vets. Several Monday night easy runs with TN. Time to get back into it.
