Seymour with A.L.
A. went off crazy hard for the first few k. - just hung off his wheel
Caught up to the Sweetbra after 3 km or so - he was climbing very strong.
A. ended up cooking himself. I continued solo.
Eased slightly - but felt steady and strong - a bit slower near the top - but kept it together. Big ringed the last 200m.
A. managed to recover and was less than a minute down.
SB rode a 46min - very impressive.

Vets.
Went well - but the big dogs were at the Coastal race.
1st sprint - long solo pull behind 2 breakaway.
final - 2 gone - sat in waiting - but no one went so long sitting sprint from half way - surprisingly strong - felt no pain - caught both before the line.
Running 1:40:00 [2]
Recovery Run - up W Canyon to 10th over to Anthro stairs - super low tide - rocks - sandbar - mud run.
Paddling 1:30:00 [3]
tried to vary the pace - several strong pulls

Saturday May 24

Road Bike 10:00:00 [3]
Woke up with sore throat.
Met A L for a climb up Cypress. Held his wheel until a bit past the lookout - then limped up the rest of the way - down via Eagle Ridge - LG - continued solo to 2nd N - Ft. Langley where I ran into Ken Y - cool - out to Abbostford - joined the Nathan Cr - McTavish Loop - super nice ride - Langley - Delta - then Surrey and home.

There are officially no redeeming qualities to Surrey. Surrey is a planning experiment gone terribly wrong. The only solution is to burn the place down and start from scratch. Surrey and I have decided to see other towns. Maybe next time I'll have to go via Bellingham and Campbell River - anything would be better.

Otherwise - super nice long ride. Body is adjusting to volume.
