Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]

Monday Jul 30

orienteering 1:58:00 [3]
Technical training on the sexiest area ever (again). Felt really great and was navigating like a world champion (possibly). Then my concentration wandered after about 1.40hrs and wasted about 3mins relocating but was pleased as i usually struggle to do this. Fantastic area and beautiful sunny day.

Sunday Jul 29

running 33:00 [3]
Warm up and down
running 30:00 [5]
Intervals at Becketts Park. 5 mins on 2.30 recovery x 4. Running well but on own so perhaps didnt squeeze out every last bit of effort.

Saturday Jul 28

Free weights-core stability 20:00 [2]
running 20:00 [3]
Terrain runnning up to the 12 apostles stone circle thing. Nice weather for a change.
orienteering 30:00 [3]
Technical training. A number of short/medium length legs. Was flowing very nicely through the terrain and navigating smoothly. Nailed all the controls spot on.
running 13:00 [3]
Running off the moor at high speed (or so it seemed like).

Friday Jul 27

Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]
running 31:00 [3]
Easy run around Becketts. Felt quite tired which is usual on a friday for some reason.

Thursday Jul 26

running 17:00 [3]
Warm up. Having a chat etc. Ian exposed himself to the dual carriageway when he was going for a wildy. I think he may have done it deliberately.
running 35:00 [4]
A lovely swift tempo run with Ian and Niall through Boddington down to Adel woods then back through Meanwood. Was quite muddy in places but we kept up a decent speed. Its so much better having people to train with.
running 23:00 [3]
Warm down. Got rained on for the first time in a while.

Wednesday Jul 25

Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]
Had a lecture today about how theres no evidence behind core stability its all bollocks etc etc. I want to go borienteering but everywheres covered in bracken!!

Tuesday Jul 24

running 20:00 [3]
Warm up around Becketts with Niall. He was still feeling the pain from his impressive run at Inglebrough on saturday so didnt stay for the efforts.
running 36:00 [5]
2 mins on, 1 min off x 12. Felt bit rubbish when warming up but was running strongly and consistently pushing hard. Pleased with my motivation to do it on my own. Nb. outduelled a 'real' cyclist on way back from uni today- he came flying past when i was stopped at traffic lights so i cranked up the speed on my womans bike and with gears slipping all over the place i gave chase. Caught him after about 1.5miles and casually sat behind him for a bit before i had to turn off. He was in full on gay lycra and on a posh bike so it was funny.
running 10:00 [3]
Warm down

Monday Jul 23

running 35:00 [2]
Easy recovery type run around some mingy Ming parks. Stopped for a chat with some orienteers after 30mins.

Sunday Jul 22

running 30:00 [4]
Tempo run in the middle of the long run including 2 chuffing big hills.
running 1:30:00 [3]
Long run in the very hilly Clent Hills. Saw a Muntjac deer (either that or a weird dog/rabbit hybrid).

Saturday Jul 21

running 1:00:00 [3]
Easy run around the Licky Hills. Felt a bit rubbish and lazy at the start but perked up after a bit and finished strongly.
orienteering 33:00 [3]
Map memory session around a couple of loops.

Friday Jul 20

running 1:00:00 [3]
Steady run around Gotts Park including as many hills as possible. Legs good but fatigued at the end which is perhaps due to wearing my road shoes as they always do this even though theyre not worn out. Pleased to avoid the worst of the rain.

Thursday Jul 19

running 44:00 [3]
Warm up and down
running 21:00 [4]
Tempo run with Niall down Meanwood. To be honest it was more like effort 5 and the pace he set off i thought it would be hard work (which it was). Got into the flow after about 5mins and was running well but Niall was tired after too much working and we called it a night after 20mins.

Wednesday Jul 18

running 45:00 [3]
Terrain running on Ilkley moor. Properly hot like summer should be. Started in Burley on Wharfedale and went up to the 12 Apostles, did some orienteering technique stuff down to the cow and calf area then ran through the technical section (which is 8 feet deep in bracken) then up the hill past White Wells back up to the top plateau bit. Another dog had a go at me, dont know why as i always slow to a walk. Maybe i should just do a pre-emptive strike on every dog i see and kick it.
orienteering 30:00 [3]
Working on bearings on the mostly featureless plateau type bit.
Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]

Tuesday Jul 17

running 15:00 [3]
Warm up to Becketts Park
running 19:00 [3]
Warm down
running 28:00 [5]
5mins x 2.30 recovery x 4. Intervals with Niall. Was going to go to P+B but Niall was doing this so thought id tag along. Becketts was crazily wet and was splashing through water most of the time, ended up looking like id been swimming in the stuff (whilst Niall was relatively clean, must be the differences in how much we flick our legs up at the back). Felt strong but there was a lack of hills and my hamstrings were a bit tight which i think is due to running fast on a very unstable surface in not very grippy shoes.

Monday Jul 16

Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]
Standard. Wanted to go for a bit of a cycle later on but it started thundering and raining and my bike is a bit rubbish.

Sunday Jul 15

orienteering 2:06:00 [3]
Steady technical training on the sexiest area ever. Rained quite alot so was difficult to run and read the map at the same time. Loving it.
C • sexiest area? 2

Saturday Jul 14

running 10:00 [3]
Warm up
orienteering 38:00 [5]
Ulpha Fell (British sprint champs 2004 area), SROC club picnic. I dont generally like score events but as this was mass start it added a bit of excitment. Had a mostly clean run but was scrappy on a couple, partly due to the high bracken but really enjoyed being on technical terrain again.

Warm down orienteering
Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]

Friday Jul 13

running 58:00 [3]
Steady around Nicky Nook. Hamstrings still abit sore from Wednesday night. Randomly met my Dad on top of a rain soaked hill (random as in i didnt know he was out running).

Thursday Jul 12

Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]
running 50:00 [3]
Recovery run around Gotts park

Wednesday Jul 11

Free weights-core stability 20:00 [2]
running 20:00 [3]
Warm up/down
running 42:00 [5]
Stirton Fell Race. Set off hard to tuck in behind the lead pack on the first long climb up to the summit, chased after them on the slippy descent where i lost a few seconds due to my trail shoes being a bit worn out and nearly going arse over tit. Then gradually reeled in some people including one person in a Bingley shirt and when i overtook him i put in an even harder burst to demoralise him. Felt strong on the climb back up to the summit but by the time id reached the long final descent the people ahead were too far away to catch and the people behind were a comfortable distance away so didnt have to sprint anyone out. Finished 9th + am pleased with the time.

Tuesday Jul 10

running 23:00 [3]
Warm up and down
running 44:00 [5]
P+B intervals. 2mins on 2 mins off x 12. Running really well and was flying along. Perhaps did a bit much considering tommorrow but i figure 2 decent sessions is better than 1. We nearly got eaten by a huuuuge alsation which the stupid woman couldnt control even though we slowed to a walk to go past them. It came after us and we had a bit of a standoff with it growling aggessively until it finally fucked off.

Monday Jul 9

running 1:37:00 [3]
Went for a terraintastic run on Ilkley moor to convince myself i could still run a bit. Felt really quite good and for some reason stronger on the uphill than the flat. Bracken has shot up over the last few weeks.
Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]

Sunday Jul 8

running 30:00 [3]
Run around Millington Wood in the Wolds. Saw some squirrels.
running 6:00 [5]
Tried an interval but felt very sluggish (possibly as a result of the nap i had in the afternnoon) so called it a day.

Saturday Jul 7

Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]

Friday Jul 6

running 40:00 [3]
Run down the canal to Gotts park then around the nice hilly golf course. Was going to do something more intense but when i tried to move faster my body rebelled so got a bit fed up and minced off home. Think i'll have tommorrow off running and write this week off as being waste of time. Was going to do weights tonight but went to watch Die Hard instead.
C • Die Even Harder 1

Thursday Jul 5

cycling 25:00 [2]
Cycle to and from Meanwood
running 1:00:00 [3]
Very easy run after a looooooong day. Probably used more adrenaline today than at most of the races this year. Someone wolf whistled at me as well. Obviously being very muddy and piss wet through is a good look for me.

Wednesday Jul 4

running 15:00 [3]
Warm up to Meanwood. On roads : ( but think have got a shorter route sussed.
running 20:00 [4]
Tempo run. Didnt want to do anything too tiring this week as important exam and essay due on thursday and friday so training will be easier and a bit hap-hazard probably. Need to save my brainpower as havent got much to spare.
C • Brainpower? 1
running 30:00 [3]
Warm down. Bit knackered.

Tuesday Jul 3

running 32:00 [3]
Exploring some routes from my new house
Free weights-core stability 40:00 [2]
Boring

Monday Jul 2

running 1:50:00 [3]
Long run around Nicky Nook then my usual terrain loop around the Harrisend horseshoe route which is all proper terrain. ran out of energy towards the end as hadnt eaten enough all day as i was concentrating on trying to finish my uni work so forgot.

Sunday Jul 1

orienteering race 43:00 [5]
Beacon Fell colour coded. Good technical and physical race. Felt light-legged and ran hard. Lost time on 2 controls probably totalling 1.30 mins but otherwise very clean.
running 15:00 [3]
Warm up and warm down in the pouring rain.
