Castle Carr Horseshoe. Legs understandably a wee bit screwed after yesterday but eased off after 30 mins. Saw some emus at the far end of the Luddenden valley which was a little odd. Spring in the valleys and winter on the tops with even some hail.

Noon Stone fell race aka why drive 500 miles for an o race when this is 5 miles down the road. Started off steady but felt strong on the first climb so wound it up a bit after that. Ran well round the rest of it and even had enough left to take someone on the run in, nice.T hink i could have been a couple of mins quicker last year but was loving it anyway. The organiser told me its an English championship counter next year, if some fast orienteers go they could do well as theres lots of terrain and rough stuff.

running 1:17:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:55 / km) +400m 5:08 / km

Sneaked onto Blackstone Edge via the Piethorne route. Ran over the M62 on a footbridge and laughed at all the commuters suffering in their cars, the fools! Good rollling hilly route with lots of terrain if i want it.

running 1:00:00 [3] 11.0 km (5:27 / km) +300m 4:48 / km

Parked somewhere different and headed up Blackstone Edge, found my way after a minor remonstration with a farmer, even though i was on a footpath on open access land. Cracking descent in the dark and had headtorch so it was all good. Still exploring routes to find the ones with the best hills, terrain, remoteness and lack of farms to run through.

Potter after work. Commuted half way home and escaped out onto the hills around Piethorne, it was sweet.

Note
(rest day)

Started work in a real actual paid Physio job, so gave myself a day off in celebration. Plus, the early mornings and virtually non-existent lunch breaks have returned...
