Very steady run with Carl from P&B (only 2 who showed up tonight). Quite glad as didn't feel like doing too much. Nice to get over that side of Leeds, will have to start going to club sessions a bit more as i can just about make it in time from work. Lovely route over to Leeds Country Way and through Calverley Wood.

Good terrain run in the rain with Leon, Greg and Bircho. Stomach wasn't great, hoping it's not a recurrence of illness. Felt good after 50 mins when we started descending. Loved being out on the moors again, especially in damp conditions.
Route - Middleton Woods, Middleton Moor, Round Hill, Beamsley Beacon, Langbar, Middleton Moor, Middleton Woods.

Fell running race (Austwick Amble) 53:47 [5]8.0 mi (6:43 / mi) +500m 3:30 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Harrier
Lovely race in the Dales, took it hard despite long run yesterday. Thankfully no-one went off particularly hard, although Jess was right behind me as we went onto the fell! Stuck in behind Lee and Ted and stayed with them for a couple of miles when Lee put a bit of an effort in up a steep slope which i couldn't match. The 2 of them gradually pulled away and at the half way mark the 4th place guy had caught me back up. We then stuck together like glue all the way along the track back to the village. I managed to gain a few metres down the last road before turning onto the final straight. Strode out and gained 10 metres which i maintained to the finish. Felt very tough along the track as neither of us were going to let the other get away.

Fell running warm up/down 19:00 [1]2.0 mi (9:29 / mi) +20m 5:43 / km
shoes: Mizuno Wave Harrier
Traffic on A65 due to silly gypsy caravans meant almost missing the race so not a lot of time to get prepared. Bit of a rushed warm-up. Blisters appeared during race so cool-down was a rather painful affair.

Sunday May 25

Running long 1:49:00 [3]14.0 mi (7:46 / mi) +400m 4:27 / km
shoes: Brooks Infiniti
Steady run with bag on with Matt from work. Put short efforts in up the steep hills in Roundhay. Nice to go to parts i'd not been to before. Legs felt ok, and stomach was ok.

Route: Work-Gledhow Valley-Roundhay Park-Gledhow Valley-Meanwood Ridge-Headingley-Home
