Nice to be back out on summer bike as found a good window with no rain. Fast paced ride out to Selby via Garforth and back via Tadcaster. Kept pace up throughout, struggled with headwind in places, especially as it changed direction so more than half the ride had to keep head down and struggle on. Legs not too bad considering race yesterday, bodes well for longer races later in the year.

NYMBO summer series race 1 at Markington. Great to be able to do some navigation racing again. Race bike needs new gear lever fitting so used old training bike. Conditions weren't too bad considering how much rain there had been, though the bridleway at #4 wasn't rideable and wasted about 10mins getting that one rather than missing it out. Headed east from the start which involved getting rather wet as a couple of the roads had flooded, but enjoyed the bridleway sections. From there came round the controls to the south of the start. Completely misjudged time towards the end and was at one of the furthest out controls with 10mins left. Had been riding hard throughout, but was still able to push on to get back to the finish just under 10mins late. Despite losing points for this, ended up joint first with Andy Conn who was equally late.
Didn't have much luck with the MapRun app as half of the riders couldn't get connection at the start, but willing to try it out again.

Session of 3x8mins @Z4, headed down to north Leeds. Mix of efforts with first 1 mainly downhill, 2nd all uphill, 3rd was a loop with a climb followed by descent. Feeling good despite the shocking weather.

(rest day)

Shocking weather all day, and Jess away with work. Fell asleep with Brontë rather than going on turbo.

Took CX bike over to school to do session on bridleways round there. 6x 2min max efforts, trails were quite slippery in places but good fun. Took Brontë for a ride along the bottom of the reservoir after school at the end of the ride.
