So much for a rest day, back to brighton to look for my compass and home again
Note
Spent about probably over an hour wandering around collecting controls and searching in vain. Found suspicious brown goo (most definatetly sewage) oozing out of a hole in the ground where it shouldnt have been but no compass.

Putting out controls for training. Used my compass once to check a control and lost it, crap. Cant afford to lose a compass.

Run hills 1:19:00 [3]
Run up port hills with Erin. Climbed up from bowenvale carpark, round to old dyers pass, and then back through vic park. Erin killed me on the climb but apart from that it was a good run.

Wicked ride today with Alex. Out to the hills and then went up rapaki around the traverse track all in cloud and then down through heaps of tracks in victoria park to bownvale vally and then back home. Awesome day. Lovin the downhill and the empty tracks. Amazing how good they still are, i guess theres been hardley any rain

Out to styx mill and back to check ou the area I mapped off google earth. Is ok and surprisingly accurate. fixed it up a little bit and now will pass as a map i think. Probably too small an area to use properly and the one very small sign saying please keep to the tracks will have to be ignored...

Picking up controls from thursdays training. Should have checked on here to find out that one was in the wrong place before going. Spent a very long time looking for it. All the walkers were looking at me very wierdly as I was climbing all over the garden and cliff tops on the otherside of the fence saying DANGER FALLING HAZARD. Just as I was leaving glanced over and spotted it further town in a perfectly safe position.

Score event in Akaroa. Was suffering badly on the hills. No surprise there though.

Epic ride from home to davauchelle, via dyers pass, summit road, gebbies pass and hill top. Struggled a bit with the last climb up hill top but was ok. Not the nicest day for it. Head wind all the way round from dyers pass almost to little river. Mission

Got my new running shoes today so will be able to run on roads again, but will try and avoid it as much as possible. Thought about going training alot today but never got off my ass and did any.

Easy run around from the kiwi to top of rapaki and back with dad. Great day for it!

2 laps of the mtb track, this track only manages to be mildly fun when going hard, otherwise may as well be on a flat road.

Out to training and back again, mission on my mtb.
Run warm up/down 15:00 [2]
up to the start, got seriously lost in the valley while trying to take a short cut up some cliffs, felt very stupid.
Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]
2 loops around mt vernon map, lots of contouring. Was navigating pretty well, but misjudged heights and distnaces on lots of controls. Ran out of puff half way round 2nd loop, at least it was all downhill from there.

Biked out to go for a run on the hills, couldn't find anyone so went home again. Was everyone feeling lazy? or was I in the wrong place? Too dark and spooky to go alone in my opinion

Afternoon ride up dyers pass from home. Feeling a bit slow, granny geared it alot of the way up.

3 fun races around the groynes. Lots of swimming. Was feeling knackered by the 3rd race, but won the 1st two feeling fast. Not much navigation needed, wish we hadnt used this map so much, could've had a pretty good sprint race there.
