Event: Jukola 2017

11 PM

Orienteering race (Jukola Eno) 2:35:24 [5] *** 13.0 km (11:57 / km)
ahr:156 max:172 19c shoes: VJ Integrator

The least prepared Jukola in 19 times. I was travelling for one week suffering jetlag, then a week at home without one very well slept night and even got a minor flow after my trip. I had the first leg starting with one K running to the K point and then about 3 K run to the first control. I picked the wrong forking and lost about two minutes at the #1. I tried to save my energy when knowing I'm not in shape. When the second long leg, about 4 K started I was so tired that I walked most of the time. After the long leg there was the most difficult control I've had in Jukola ever, a small boulder in very green area without any attackpoint. I missed it by 5 minutes, but many runners lost much more there at the same time. Last uphill was too much for me and I needed to stop two times to get to the top of the hill. Not any good run, but this was my level today with bad training, jetlag and flu.
