| Lunchtime run out along the London Marathon route, the sight of the crash barriers along the side of the road filled me with memories (not all of them good). Was running well and surprisingly fast until I was nearly at Hungerford bridge when I suddenly had an acute pain in my right knee. Rubbing and stretching didn't help and I was a long way from the office (and had a meeting in 30 minutes), so had to run back. Pain went to a dull numb after a while and I got back okay and in time for my meeting.
Afterwards though, I was aware of the pain when I was walking around, etc. Feels really like my patella tendonitis of last year, bugger........ |

| Should have been a session with Billericay Striders, however I arrived late and didn't know which way they'd gone.
So instead I did some solo long hilly sessions. Found a loop around a local park that included 3 hill climbs and descents. Felt quite good on the first couple of intervals so extended to 8 reps. Nice sunset whilst I was doing the intervals and finished just before total darkness.
Rep times were (length about 0.90 miles):
5.22, 5.13, 5.25, 5.22, 5.09, 5.13, 5.14, 5.07 |
