| NSW champs - smashed knee on a rock at the first control, which hurt like hell, was gonna pull out, but carried on anyways. Knee interupted concentration throughout the race, so was making lots of mistakes. Never really got into it technically and was doing bad, then my foot started hurting. Crossed the line and all of a sudden there was onset of severe pain in my foot.......hurt to walk, hurt just to sit down. Turns out Ive got stress fractures in 2 bones in my left foot!! Uh oh, no running for James for at least 6 weeks! |

| Kahli's Rocks - Just went and did a few controls at a moderate pace to test the ankle on the rocks. Felt pretty good, except for the fact it was snowing!! |

| Orienteering training on Seldom Seen. Did the girls course from JWOC trials. Had to walk in the rough rocky bits (the majority of the map!) But as soon as the ground became more runable, opened up a bit which was good while it lasted. Shame i still cant orienteer though!! |

| Went for a slow cruisy swim at Kinross school, a lot cheaper than my last swim! Just easy pace doing a variety of strokes, felt really good. |

| Ankle still really sore, but i strapped it up, put on an ankle brace and headed onto Gumble creek. Only went for a few controls and realised it wasnt going to happen, so ended up doing lots of walking. |

| Sprint race at Bloomfield. First controls went straight off road through rough ground, so had to walk so i didnt injure my ankle further. But managed to run around about 80% of the course, although not very fast. Felt really crap as well, and my legs just didnt turn over. |

| Got to restless not doing any running and watching everyone else run around Gumble pinnicles, so went for a swim to release some energy.
Did about 1km easy warm up, then 10 x 50m intervals @ 40sec, with 30sec standing recovery. Man im bad at swimming at the moment and just cant pull the water with any strength/ speed. Was still really nice though. Plus starting to feel sick again, im putting it down to the change in colder climate from Cairns. Nothing too serious, just feeling a bit under down and weak. |
