EP Champs - Sandmine/Broccoli Hill
Such a fun area, now with extra extension to the south.
Past experience on this map meant I knew running could be fast if you kept out of the bushes so aimed to have good speed and try to get good lines. Quite concerned straight away by the vague approach to #2 but figured that going slow wouldn't help so tried to just keep going. Missed 3 a bit after not seeing the small knoll before it in the bushes and then being a quite hidden flag. Then got overconfident through the easier part on the Sandmine before getting into the harder Broccoli Hill section and massively vaguing out near the end of the leg to #7. Knew I was left but just couldn't make myself correct enough so ended up losing a few minutes going slow and bouncing off the vegetation and cliffs to the left. Refocused better from there with another good section until being a bit slow and hesitant through the vague southern section with a significant direction loss to #14. Tried to finish off fast on back in the Sandmine section although had a brief moment of confusion when the marked route to the last control actually went somewhere else.

A bit annoyed at the time losses but I guess it could have been worse.

Silly start after #1 being on the wrong mound and then proceeding to distract and be distracted by Bridget, trying two blocked routes to 2 before actually going the right way. After that quite a pleasant run around.

NZ QB3 Day 3 - Himatangi
I guess this race was fine. In retrospect I probably wasn't really fully racing and being a bit conservative and more focused on keeping it clean then pushing the pace when I could have. Nevertheless a reasonable time only a few small time losses due to hesitations and double checks in some detailed sections.
