CSC Simpson Ground. Agreed to run for LOC - If I'm gonna do Orienteering this year, I'd better do some practice.

Tried to focus on compass direction, simplifying and getting my head up. Def need to look at the compass more, I was using general feel as my direction too much - you can get away with that in the UK, not so in Sweden for me! Was simplifying better though, which will only improve with practice, and generally was coming into control circles with an idea of the layout beforehand, so good.

First 8 were all easy open fell/swamp so I had a 1.10 lead by no.8 This was gone by number 9 as I lost 2 mins (changed plan halfway, then didn't visualise the entry at all), and another minute binned on 10. Couldn't make head or tail of the mapping here (still don't know what happened, but I was apparently way short). Got my butt back into gear on 11 with a good route, gaining a full 30 secs back on everyone, before binning that 30 on the next one. This was getting in danger of becoming a bad run, so refocused and actually started going well from there til the end! A little surprised to lose a minute on 16 on winsplits - I did miss it by not reading the description but mustve lost more on my chosen route - quicker another way apparently.

Had good feeling from 13 to the finish actually, hit some good speed at times. Promising in places.

Bit surprised to take max points but guess I was running pretty well in places. Bring on Tio camp.
