Sunday May 6 #

Note
(rest day)

Little-Hunt wedding sports day. Didn't run but did do many races inc, egg n spoon, sack race, three-legged race, sprint relays, ultimate frisbeeing, hurdles etc etc but none have left me hurting like the wheelbarrow race.

Another scorchio day, another grand weekend.

Good plonk out with Little Rob and Tedwards from Little-Hunt Fest/Wedding near Buxton. Got slowed a bit by one slimestone infested dale, before tapping out some paved miles as well. Hot hot hot.

Orienteering 31:06 [3] 4.49 km (6:56 / km) +134m 6:02 / km

Solid bit of O down Borrowdale. Nice area, pretty crap map. Some minor wobbles but mostly good. Number 20 was in the wrong place, I hit the right re entrant - there was a stick with tape in it and no control, so I carried on and reported it at the finish. They took some convincing, and they still put me down as MP'd. Orienteering, I ask you.

Went back to the control - map was poor but the control was clearly wrong, not that the older orienteers who claimed they 'spiked it' would agree. AT did however, agree. Says it all. Still, a fun run out.

Orienteering 38:27 [3] 4.93 km (7:48 / km) +118m 6:58 / km

LOC event, Rusland Beeches. Lovely area, questionable map (a theme in Lakeland it seems?)
Trying to focus on this one, mostly succeeded but in these kind of areas it seems best to be relaxed with your interpretation of the map! Binned 2 minutes on 7, smashed some legs, some others not as good. Process was better though.

Why does BOF think Im an M35?

Running 13:46 [2] 1.17 mi (11:46 / mi) +35m 10:47 / mi

Warmed down!

Note

Does anyone want to make up a relay team for BOC? WCH barely have anyone going, but I want to run in the relay (even if non competitive). Not remotely bothered by standard etc, lets just get involved! Reply by 4th May
