From Stone birthplace (NW corner) Reservoir Tr/Baker Pond/Pisgah Ridge/Parker/Old Chesterfield Rd. Beautiful rolling run thru 13,000 acre undeveloped park. Some gravel surface, but 80% was on cushioned pine needles. Nice overlooks on Pisgah Ridge Trail. Nicest run found to date in area. Forest is mature open pine and hardwood and would do nicely for an orienteering map.

Back down the Futures trail. Thought this would be easier on the knees, but recent rain and poor grading made this a washout. Slower going down than up due to bad footing.

Felt really tired. Hot, humid weather taking its toll. Mistake on #7; lost concentration when I saw other runners coming out of control area. Took 9 min, probably 7 min lost due to error.

Hadn't actually run the courses in the process of vetting and checking control positions. Still, knew where they were located. Downpour halfway thru felt very refreshing. Ran fine until the next to last control; turned in too early and wasted 8 min.

Downhill start, loops around 2 miles on flat, then finishes back up the hill. Actually a fun course to run. If serious about this, probably shouldn't have run up and down Camel's Hump yesterday afternoon.

Trail Running (Camel's Hump, VT, 4083') 2:18:00 [3]6.0 mi (22:59 / mi) +700m 10:29 / km
Run straight up 2.3 miles from west side, 57 min; then looped back Long Trail and down Forest Trail. First half down cliffs, 60 min, 2nd half down 21 min. Rainy and wind made it kind of a crummy afternoon; coming down rocks were wet, steep and slick.
