Skate Ski (Craftsbury) 1:08:51 [4] 12.55 km (5:29 / km) +231m 5:01 / km

Long skiO course.
- bad route to 2 - took line along road instead of L
- kids standing around 2, fought into contol and doubled back out, rather than continue straight ahead
- ran the path to 4, but went past the start and had to ski back down - 2:30 lost
- clockwise around the field after 8, should have doubled back - 30s
- started down towards Duck Pond, mistake on top of a bad route - 2 min

Skate Ski (Grafton Ponds) 1:42:28 [3] 13.15 km (7:48 / km) +171m 7:19 / km

Shoveled this morning to divert lingering water and filled in some bare patches on the trails.

Decided to ski elsewhere today, so Ruthie and I headed to Grafton. Had a man made loop in the field for 1/3 km, and rock hard natural and trucked snow on other trails. Not any better than home, but different.

Annoying they groom thin cover with a PistenBully and pull up lots of golf ball sized rocks to mix in with the snow. Stopped and tossed a dozen into the woods. They need to walk the trails in these conditions and clean up. Otherwise the rocks will still be in the mix when we get more snow and there is 6" cover, with a surprise grapefruit poking through. Just before closing the PistenBully headed out and I followed for 3 km. Best skiing all day, despite the rocks.

Persisted and got in enough to take me over 300 km so far this season. Very pleased with this, considering I spent the summer on crutches.

Note

Down to 13F last night, so set up and ran some snow making to fill in a gap by the wood shed end of the field. Got okay coverage after an hour, by then the temp was up to 20 and the process became less efficient and stopped. So next it's grooming more of the frozen base from last week.

Skate Ski (Kingdom Valley) 1:02:41 [3] 10.1 km (6:12 / km) +99m 5:55 / km

Skiing the fields and Pines with Ed. Lots of loops on granular snow.
3 PM

Strength (Rec center) 1:15:00 [3]

Wall wgts x 100 rep standing on Bosu ball, one legged for some. Machines for the legs only, as arms were tired. Then worked with Trainer on hamstrings and glutes, some okay, some very difficult.
Gave them a donation towards a ski erg machine. Was planning on getting one anyway, might as well share it.

Skate Ski (Kingdom Valley) 1:05:19 [3] 10.54 km (6:12 / km) +92m 5:56 / km

Froze hard overnight and groomed the Fields and Pines. Lots of loops, but chopped up granular was fast and fun.

Skate Ski (Kingdom Valley) 1:22:07 [1] 6.39 km (12:51 / km) +119m 11:46 / km

Slow, wet conditions. Fields getting thin, Pines will be in good shape when it chills tonight. Explored some upper trails and seepage extends where I failed to ditch alongside the trails and stick in culverts. Will have to fix that or just get more reasonable winter weather.
