Track workout intervals (Chester HS) 33:23 intensity: (26:23 @2) + (7:00 @4) 2.6 mi (12:50 / mi)
ahr:112 max:140 1c

7 x 200 m intervals. Hamstring sore and tight, but finally took the Alex approach and figured if I ignored the pain, then the problem really doesn't exist. Pushed to the pain point and just cruised lap after lap, analyzing the structure of the problem. Hurts when the L foot comes down, just before contact with the track. Straight up posture and tight glutes seem to help. So something to work with, even if these 200's were 20 sec slower than a month ago.

Stretching and warmup checking out obstacles.

Trail Race race 1:04:32 [4] 3.2 mi (20:10 / mi) +351m 15:02 / mi

Reach the Peak obstacle race, Claremont, NH. Two laps up the ski trails with 16 obstacles spread around. Twice thru over-the-head mud pits, over a few walls and under a claustrophobic tunnel crawl. Really steep headwall (57% grade) to scale towards the end, hand over hand scrambling. Finally a water pit filled with ice, which I had looked forward to all race. Refreshing. Could have spent more time there!

Focus was to not be stupid and get hurt. Successful at that although my hamstring cramped a couple times climbing obstacles.

21st overall of about fifty adults, 1st 70+ and 2nd 50+. Fun event, lots of casual participants not looking for speed.
