Road Running 1:14:56 [3] 6.21 mi (12:04 / mi) +33m 11:52 / mi
ahr:141 max:173

With Joe and Christian. Felt a little stiff from Friday, but nice cool morning.
3 PM

Roller skiing (Craftsbury) 1:50:00 [1] 3.0 mi (36:40 / mi)

Biathlon practice. Shooting drills, standing and prone. Mixed relay. Then some free skiing and shooting. Unfortunately, I crashed on a simple downhill and left some skin on the asphalt. Wrist is in a splint, too; we'll see how that goes.

Hiking (Saddle State Forest NY) 5:40:00 [2] 9.06 mi (37:32 / mi) +883m 28:48 / mi
ahr:106 max:144

Hike with Art and Gretchen.
Recently acquired state forest, undeveloped. Rough loop trail starting at end of crude gravel road. Fairly well blazed, faint tread path. Climb up to ridge and along crest good. Dropping down far side to South Bay of Lake Champlain very rough and slow. Long climb back, working up ravine to ridge, along top of rock cliffs. Some narrow pathways on rock ledges. Not too much exposure, but I guess a 50' drop is enough to hurt.

Track workout warm up/down 7:00 [2] 0.73 mi (9:35 / mi)
ahr:128 max:148

Track workout intervals 23:49 [4] 2.59 mi (9:12 / mi)
ahr:142 max:157 1c

Got a text from Christian asking about the when and where of our planned track workout. The answer to the first was tomorrow at 7. Turns out he had the day wrong and was there today. So changed and headed down to the track right away, carrying a full breakfast in my stomach I had just finished.

Plan was 6 x 200 at pace with another 200 between each one at an easy pace without stopping. Then a few 400's and an 800. Did all but the 800 as my gut wasn't going to hold it down for two laps.

Times for the quicker laps: 55 / 1.08 / 1.02 / 1.00 / 1.01 / 57
about 1:30 for the recoveries.

Then 400's with a stop in between: 1.59 / 1.53 / 1.58 / 1.57

Good workout, albeit unexpected today.

Strength (Trainer) 1:15:00 [3] ***

Warmup, stretching, then a workout with Adam. Special attention to L shoulder which had an incipient dislocation off and on last week as I was working on the new floor in the dining room. Good isometric and low load exercises. Plus regular ladders and plyos.
3 PM

Road Running 22:25 [3] 2.0 mi (11:12 / mi)
ahr:138 max:152

Pushed for a short run on the rail trail, but was a little tired from workout just before this.
