Run - Off road race (parkrun) 18:23 [5] 5.0 km (3:41 / km) +95m 3:21 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Terrafly 303

First parkrun in a couple of months. Nice morning for it, and I was feeling fairly sprightly.

Started alongside Pete Woodward and chatted with him until the hill started to become noticeable at which point he began to pull away. Settled into 2nd place with a big gap either side of me.

Fairly happy with my time.

Then went for a post race coffee and a catch up with my girls and Tom.

Run - Road long 1:38:00 [3] 21.4 km (4:35 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 255

Nice longish steady run around the quay, around the harbour to Shore Road, along the prom towards B'mouth, up Branksome Chine and then it went wrong.

I had a route in mind that I had memorised from the map before I set off. But I clearly didn't, and went merrily trotting up a road admiring all the massive houses of Canford Cliffs and Branksome Park thinking I was heading west, then turned right then ended up at a big crossroads. I recognised the junction but was convinced I was heading the opposite direction. The signs to Poole were telling me to go back where I'd just come from though, so totally disorientated in the dark, I turned around and then bumbled my way back in vaguely the right direction until I came out at Parkstone Station.

Back via Civic Centre, Poole Park, and the Quay again.

I must admit I wasn't feeling on top form tonight. Legs are sore and heavy from last night's mile reps and I didn't feel at all light and bouncy on my feet despite my best efforts with my barefoot form.

This is just the jogs in this entry.

Run - Road 1:02:00 [3] 13.75 km (4:31 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Road-X 255

After yesterday's November Classic was cancelled due to heavy rain overnight, today became the first run in over a week. Still full of phlegm but the virus has gone.

Freezing night, but clear and crisp. Much the same route as 2 weeks ago along Poole Quay, around the bay, up into Parkstone and back.

It soon became apparent by the vast number of people standing in my way on the quay, live music, food stalls, and the smell of hot meat and onions that something was going on. Ah, Poole Quay fireworks. I won't run back that way then. Ran back around Poole Park, past work, and back from there.
