3x1M intervals, with 1 minute rest in-between. Cold, and I felt tired. If the average is truly 5:55, I was right on pace.

Clock read "17:52", but it was wrong. Terrible course, hard week of training, severely tired, legs were sore...still, no excuses. I didn't run fast enough.

Running 17:50 [3] 3.5 mi (5:05 / mi)
7x800m, averaging 2:49? I had nobody to chase from the second on, so it was a BIT slower than expected. I have to get used to that.

Not sure about total time calculation..if anyone wants to jump on that..

Tuesday Sep 16

Running race 17:10 [5] 3.1 mi (5:31 / mi) vdot: 59.4
Plus: New PR, first for the team, Saw David Geary!
Minus: Not top-5, Didn't beat Fairport, Chris 'got a cramp', Chris is on the team

Good race. Felt like I was in the right spot in the beginning; perhaps I should have charged that hill more and ended up in the front pack..maybe then I would have gotten a sub-17 and top 5. I anticipated Nico going out too fast, and I really wanted to run with him the whole race, but when he told me to go ahead, I figured there's nothing else to do.

What I'm more excited about is next race. I have to do some research, but if there are no favorites to win, I'd like to become one.

to hell with nico.
I've had one of the worst days. I bike halfway to practice, remember that my dog is outside, so I bike back and let her in. I get to practice, and half of the guys are pulling off some shenanigans on the warmup. I don't say anything. On the run, I couldn't just run with the pack, I had to take off (I don't know why, maybe I have this extra energy to run since my girlfriend is hundreds of miles away), and have a great run, and work very hard. I'm exhausted and tired by the end. I get back to find the usual group, (AJ, Eric & Crew), not doing ANYTHING during the ab workout. They're just sitting there talking.

Now, usually, as soon as i see them, I would just tell them to work, and they would continue to slack, casually. Instead, I tell myself to just keep cool, because if they don't want to work, they're not going to. Then I think to myself, "I'm captain i need to tell them to work harder" (i hate seeing people with lots of talent not work. I have NO talent) - so i yell at AJ. Nico, having the Ego the size of the universe, TELLS ME TO COME TO HIM SO HE CAN REPRIMAND ME??? hell no. I won't take that shit. He doesn't know half of what I'm going through right now. If he wants to be captain, make him one.

I'm sick of putting up with the slackers. I'm not going to deal with them anymore. If they don't want to work, someone else (MAYBE, ONE OF THE OTHER 2 CAPTAINS) can tell them to. Just a thought.

After practice, I talk to AJ in the parking lot, apologizing and saying that I hate seeing him not work, because he has a lot of talent, and it shouldn't go to waste. We're cool now. I shouldn't have yelled at him, I admit. <<< This has happened MULTIPLE times throughout the season, so I'm close to just giving up hope.

Not to mention, Coach Lyons gives me (good) advice to talk to AJ, because apparently he'll listen to me this time, and then Coach Klehr says "Keep on calling people out, Kenny, it shows that you care for them." WILL DO, COACH!

don't expect me at practice tomorrow.

Tuesday Sep 9

Running race 17:37 [5] 3.1 mi (5:41 / mi) vdot: 57.7
I guess that's a good time for Black Creek. I stuck with this Rush kid for all of it, we were "competing", persay, and we exchanged leads back and forth. I made my main move too early, a little after the 2 mile mark, going around the pond, so perhaps I should have waited. There was a group in front of me, that if I stuck with, I would have made the top 5..One place away, and I would have gotten my name in the newspaper..*argh!
---*** Again, in this race as well as Seneca, there was a distinct moment where I chose to play it safe and hang back with the 2nd group. Perhaps this was a smarter decision, for it was earlier in the race this time, but I need to risk it. ---***
I want that AGR Top 20 listing with my picture..Schroeder hasn't had one of those in a while.

We need Nico back, and we need our top 5 to close in on me. I raced to be chased today, for I thought Nate would stick with me, and Alex would follow, and on and on. I'm guessing we lost to everyone again.

But! I'm happy with my time, and this was a fun meet nonetheless.

Saturday Sep 6

Running 17:25 [3] 3.1 mi (5:36 / mi)
Good race, 7th place, PR. - looking back on it now, I wish I could have stuck with the pace change. I felt it coming in the beginning, when the lead Brockport kid pulled ahead, and then 2 more kids tried to stay with him, but I felt safe in that pack, knowing that I could keep this pace for the next mile or so. It wasn't a comfortable pace, so I was definitely racing, but I just have to take a risk and go with the lead guys for that last mile and a half or so. Maybe then, I'd be in that Top-5 group. Oh well.
