Friday Aug 31

Running race 19:30 [5] 3.1 mi (6:18 / mi) vdot: 51.2
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Blue & Gold race today. Gold won every section =D

A bit disappointed with my time..although it's a PR. 4th place - (who called it), still, I think I could have done better. Perhaps I went out too fast? Goal for this year is sub-19, which is very reachable at this point. I still could have raced better.
C • you kenny 1

Thursday Aug 30

Running 30:45 [3] 4.5 mi (6:50 / mi)
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Easy run with Nate, Alex, Marcin (if he counts with his shortcuts), and Chris Mauro
Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [3]
Lifting with Nate (as usual; Klehr wants us to use partners cause we're such slackers)
Kickball 30:00 [5]
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Intense kickball. Lost 14-3 as Blue takes the lead in the competition.
Note
All "carbed" up for the run tomorrow..had some rice stir-fry for dinner, followed up by some whole-grain pretzel rods. Looking for #3 in the rankings behind Nate Lyons and Alex Brett. Getting some decent rest in, good breakfast..we'll see when the times come in.

What am i thinking..#3? I have to consider Pat and Chris Mauro. Still..#3 is quite tantalizing to think about..

Tuesday Aug 28

Running 53:00 [3] 6.75 mi (7:51 / mi)
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Run with somewhat different people today; Nate, Pat, Alex, and Chris Mauro. Long Schroeder route; decent pace.
Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Lifted some weights - Can feel my muscles getting more defined and stronger.
C • Its those 3

Monday Aug 27

Running 16:30 [3] 2.0 mi (8:15 / mi)
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Warm-up 2 mile at Klehr pace.
Running 11:55 [4] 2.0 mi (5:57 / mi)
shoes: Asics GEL-1120
2-Mile tempo/timed. Edged Nate for the race-style finish at the end, he wanted it more. Pushed for under 12, fast pace. If I can keep that up for another mile, sub-18 is in store for this season.

Sunday Aug 26

Push-Ups 5:00 [3]

Orienteering race 19:21 [4] ** 2.2 km (8:48 / km)
11c shoes: Asics GEL-1120
Really fun Orienteering thing, i'd do SO much better the next time I did it. Now that I know how to use a map, (seriously..) I'd do much better. If theres ever another near Webster, I'm there.
C • Glad you enjoyed 1
Sit-Ups 5:00 [3]
40 of them

Friday Aug 24

Note
I'm getting new running shoes tomorrow (because apparently they smell..who had that preposterous hypothesis..just running in a monstrous metropolis) - little rhyme there - ok if anyone wants to make suggestions feel free. I've had my Asics since January,if that helps. Alot of miles on them, time to kill.
C • stay with 2
Biking 50:00 [3] 11.0 mi (4:31 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Didn't have it in me to run for some reason. Called up Chris Brown and Nick D'Angelo, and biked for a long time. I'll do this again tomorrow, felt REALLY good on my knees and legs.
Sit-Ups 5:00 [3]
40 of them
Push-Ups 5:00 [3]

Thursday Aug 23

Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [4]
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Yea, I lifted.
Running 45:00 [3] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Yea, I ran with Marcin.

Wednesday Aug 22

Running hills 4:50 [4]
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Some freaking awesome hills - Not lying, I worked REALLY hard on those and they felt great. With quick work of a calculator, figured that each session being 45 seconds, x6, /60, 4.5 minutes of hills. Perhaps a play on multiples of 10 there coach? My guess is just coincidence. If anyone would be so kind as to suggest an incline, I'll happily log that as well.
Running intervals1.5 mi ( / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Six fast 400m runs. Splits; 74s, 75s, 76s, 82s, 77s, 74s - Thanks Nate! Hope you don't mind my technique with those, came in right behind you every time except the last, so I just added a second each.

Note: Knee is MUCH better after two nights of ice with one completed with 3 advil. Didn't bother me at practice! - Same plan for tonight. Might not make practice tomorrow due to work; didn't know it would be in the morning..and 'DISQO' is doing some surveys tomorrow morning.
C • If you miss practice... 2
Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
warmup/cooldown

Tuesday Aug 21

Running 20:00 [2]
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
errgghh..who made patella tendinitis. Ran 20 with main group, couldn't take it anymore, dropped out. feel like a failure. perhaps this is punishment for me writing out Chris.

it's ice time - mom says she's not driving me to practice tomorrow...we'll see about that >XD
C • With any luck... 2
Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [4]
arms - freaking knee.

Monday Aug 20

Running 1:00:00 [4] 9.0 mi (6:40 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
15 min. warmup, 10 min. tempo, 1 min break, 10 min. tempo, 15 minute cooldown.

Ran with Nate, Jake Bober, Ty Saunders. Found Alex and Josh Prahler halfway into cooldown. (despite reports of others, that's the way it went. freaking hypocrites).

Note; Chris Mauro humors me. Running on pure blatant talent, (truly), he could be putting in MUCH more effort than he actually is. He lost us within the first 10 minutes of warmup, (apparently I led too fast?! - on that note, we were going SLOW, so I couldn't take it) - and ran basically by himself, (came back with the girl group for quite obvious reasons). What angers me is that he has sufficient talent to not work and compete for the Top-7, and doesn't utilize it at practices which could greatly benefit him. His stride-outs were predictably apt of him, if anyone was watching. Perhaps 'humors' is the wrong word.
C • yea 1
C • Talent has it's limits 2

Sunday Aug 19

Note
i didn't run for 5 days..

LOL
C • Taper 3

Tuesday Aug 14

Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [3]
Yea, I lifted weights. The Lyons are back!! - Where was Nico today..

Leaving tomorrow. If anyone has any secrets or love notes to give me, now would be the time. Coming back Sunday.
C • no one 1
Running 1:00:00 [4] 8.5 mi (7:03 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
iRan (specifically with the usual advanced people, then with Nico and Nate.)

Monday Aug 13

Running 50:00 [3] 6.5 mi (7:41 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Couldn't stand todays pack..took off with 10min to go, ran an extra 10 with Alex afterwards (thank God..) - frontrunning is the only way to go.
my gosh we went slow today..double session later
C • nice 2

Sunday Aug 12

Push-Ups 10:00 [3]
30 of them
Sit-Ups 10:00 [3]
40 of them

Saturday Aug 11

Running 35:00 [3] 5.0 mi (7:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Run with Bobby and Alex. It's so much better to lead, you're not always looking down at the feet of the person in front of you, and you get more wind and a feeling of being fast. Got lost for a bit, ran back on a road.
C • You've seen the t-shirts? 2

Friday Aug 10

Note
Steve Prefontaine ran "4-8 miles a day, depending on the weather and how he felt". ?!?! -How could this guy pull it off, and be a record-setter? Genetics? Kids today run more than that, and don't even come close.
C • It is not about quantity but quality 2

Thursday Aug 9

Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [4]
Pumped iron, found a fitted gangster hat..good session!
C • Captains prac 3
Running 1:05:00 [4] 8.8 mi (7:22 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Schroeder guys run (YEA!) with Alex, Nico, and Dan. We ran on the 'Keep-Out' trail for a bit, that was fun. Worked as hard as we would all together. SHAKESPEARE WAS CANCELED!!

Wednesday Aug 8

Running 40:00 [2] 5.2 mi (7:41 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Run with Alex Brett! - It's quite a ways to his house, then about 3 more miles and back. Very hot outside, had to run to Spry and get a drink.

Tuesday Aug 7

Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [4]
Great workout - pumped more than usual. Better yet, there was no Shakespeare last night, and hopefully there won't be any tonight either due to predicted thunderstorms, and I can run freely.
Running (Fartlek) 1:03:00 [4] 8.5 mi (7:24 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Fartlek run with Alex (Thomas), John Hohl, Matt (Thomas), Nico, and Dan Hohl. Glad I kept up the whole time, didn't think I'd be able to - thanks to Nico for pushing me through, it helped. Don't know how many sprints..6 I think. SHAKESPEARE WAS CANCELED DO TO RAIN!
Push-Ups 5:00 [3]
20 of them
Note
YES!

Monday Aug 6

Push-Ups 10:00 [3]
30 of them
Sit-Ups 10:00 [3]
40 of them

Sunday Aug 5

Biking 30:00 [3]
Some biking with training in mind; harder than an average ride.

Saturday Aug 4

Running long 1:30:00 [4] 11.0 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
LONG run with John, Bobby, Alex, Jake, and Dan. Glad I stuck it out for the whole thing - even that last mile with the rollers. Felt really good afterwards - good to have a day off from work and run 11 miles.

Friday Aug 3

Note
Hope it RAINS tonight, and there's no Shakespeare.
Perhaps I'll go for a bike ride.

Thursday Aug 2

Running 1:00:00 [4] 8.5 mi (7:03 / mi)
shoes: Asics - GT-2120
Hard run with the same group again; off with Nico for the last 15 minutes or so. It was deathly hot, so we stopped for water, which somewhat cramped us.
Pumping Iron 1:00:00 [4]
Yea, I lifted again. Tyler was there - thought he died or something.
Note
'Shakespeare Fest' is tiring beyond belief.I get home at 11:30 exhausted from sitting there doing nothing except drum when the cues come (sitting down), and I get up early the next morning for XC. 8 NIGHTS! This is preposterous. I should fake being sick with chronic pneumonia for a day. Get up early, work till 3, sleep for an hour, usually XC camp, otherwise straight to freaking Shakespeare. Ridiculous.
