WOC Middle Final. Something is still seriously wrong with my body. Racing hurts, and therefore concentration suffers, orienteering suffers, negative spiral compounds and results echo feelings/performance.
Hindsight...
I tried, I gave it 100% to recover and get in shape, I failed.
Racing at the World Champs feeling like this is possibly the all time low in my orienteering career. This year my body has let me down, and that is about the most frustrating and depressing thing that can happen when you put so much into trying to achieve your goals. Injuries can be managed, but debilitating sickness like this is tough to deal with.
Biggest priority now - get healthy, get rid of whatever is screwing up my system, have a proper rest, then worry about 2013 later.

Max hill reps on Kusens Backen.
Newer loop - pretty good for WOC hopefully. 500m gently climbing with about 75m flat at the top (55-60m climbing approx), then 250m steep descent recovery.
Did 8 loops, ascents in 2:34-2:41, descents in around 1:10.
Pushed hard, had company from Pal for first 5. Struggled a bit 6th and 7th as acid was building, then pushed hard on last.

Did 6 strides on the grass after.
Really warm today, feeling good, but lungs were burning and HR was high - good session I think! No niggles at all either which has to be good news.

Not often I get my HR over 180!

The Griffin Trophy

Scania 3 day team-building/adventure race activity for 300 people that forms the main part of my job. Long working hours, not a lot of sleep, but a lot of fun! No time for training....
Definitely not 'rest days' though!
