Orienteering race 47:21 intensity: (7:21 @3) + (22:00 @4) + (18:00 @5) 11.4 km (4:09 / km) +300m 3:40 / km

CSC Final Brown course at Helsington Burrows. Bit under-planned.

Nice course, got stuck in brambles and a few 5-10s mistakes but otherwise pretty good run. Even equal fastest on the run in which is unusual.

FVO won!!!! Best club in the country :D

Trail/terrain running race 1:33:00 intensity: (26:00 @1) + (11:00 @2) + (8:00 @3) + (23:00 @4) + (25:00 @5) 17.9 km (5:12 / km)

FRA Relays at Pendle Hill.

Navigation leg for Ochils HR with Vojtech. Set off somewhere around 20th (?), ran quickly and mostly in the right direction. I was marginally stronger than Vojtech on the steep climbs and descents. He was very strong on the flat running. We changed over in 8th, fastest leg time. Very nice.

Negatives

Crap map with no chance of understanding what is actually allowed - crossing walls? access land vs 'private' land? - hardly any paths marked on the map
The contour interval changed on the map at one point!

Start 'triangle' was a circle

Controls were lettered rather than numbered, with no joining lines

Controls had nice stars in the circles, neatly obliterating all the detail in the circle!

'Route choice' was fairly minimal

Massively underplanned (again). We ran 58:30, EWT was 70 mins.

FIRST CONTROL WAS IN THE WRONG BLOOMING PLACE!

Still, loved it - great day out.

Coaching F down at the track, so ran round the lake then home.

Nice off-road loop from home. Down by the river, through Minewoods, up to the reservoir and across the Sheriffmuir bit of the Dumyat map. Took the new pylon road for a bit, then back down past the monument.
