Running race 26:13 [5] 6.4 km (4:06 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Waffle XC

National Champs at Callender Park

Set off ok, but a little bit slow, got slower, and slower and slower as the race went on. Came 60th for f**k sake, 2mins down on Jamie and Cherry, the worst race of my life, seriously. Had a really bad ights sleep the night before coz i just could sleep. Had absolutly nothing to give, felt shocking the whole way. Not fun. I need to get a lot faster if im gonna compete this year in O aswell, the basic speed aint what it should be.

Running 30:00 [1] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2130

joggig course/ warming up and dooon

Orienteering 35:01 [3] *** 5.1 km (6:52 / km) +125m 6:07 / km
spiked:14/19c shoes: Jalas Black FLX

Scottish Night Champs - Kineil Wood

Had nowt to lose after cross country earlier. Mistakes

1) wrong map in the map box, great start
4) 10s after not seing the control - no reflectors.
11) 10s Standing on the wrong side of the 2m wide thicket
12) 20s Didnt see control at first despite being in an open field
14) 1min after a run over the grass was 50m too far east and had to relocate off the path behind the control. I wasnt alone - I won the leg by 10s
16) 20s hesitating on the way to the control, anoth control in a pit on the way to ours control in a pit.

Total: 2 min 10s

reckon I also lost about 2mins from being proper dead from xc and having literally no speed.

Not an amazing area but very well suited to Night O, too small for a championship though.

Half way round my headtorch got knocked off my head by a branch, it was very loose after that. Brilliant map, all the ditches were perfectly mapped, which made the forest useable.

Really surprised I won considering how slow I was, and by over a minute on an easy course.

Running 43:30 [3] 8.2 km (5:18 / km) +80m 5:03 / km
shoes: Asics GT-2130

Queens drive loop, really windy, so much so that a guy on a bike freewheeled past me uphill. It was like running on a treadmill in places when the wind was at its strongest not nice weather, im dreading football on the grass at holy rood park tommorow as its windy there at the best of times. Boring run as well coz ive lost my ipod.

Running intervals 30:00 [5] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2130

5x1000m (3.32/3.23/3.27/2.28/3.23)

Was 10s late after my mum forgot to give me a lift, so had to weave in and out of the slow guys, hence the jobby time. My HRM was spazzing out on me and my shoes werent tied tight enough on the 1st so I took out my rage on the next run. Was way out front on my own and had no one to race when it got tough on No. 3 and 4. Every week some chancer pulls out an awesome last run to beat me so I did a pre emptive sprint from the start and got another fast time. Very dead by the end. Good times ahead of the xc on Saturday.

Orienteering 1:10:36 [3] 7.3 km (9:40 / km) +380m 7:40 / km
spiked:18/24c shoes: Jalas Black FLX

"SoSOL" at Elibank somewhere near Peebles. First half of the course (the hard bit) was a shambles. Lost 60s to No.3, 30s to 5 coz I was a weed going down the vertical rocky muddy slope to the control. 60s at No.6 for taking the big boys route straight through the green stuff rather than going down or up and round. Got a stone in my shoe to 7 so lost 30s getting it out. 60s to 9 coz I have wee legs which can run through high undergrowth. 20s to 10 for being too low on the stream. 60s to No. 17 when I got stuck in all the fences and crap.

Only lost 3mins on the next 7 control from being tired coz I had a rubbish night sleep the night before and got very tired towards the end. Ended up 10 mins down on Dave R who won and owned Mark M by a whole 29s despite being shocking and him living down the road from the area.

Valuable points in my quest to win coveted title of first junior on the brown course in the highlight of the orienteering calendar that is the SoSOL.
