Event: SOL 2

Orienteering 1:40:00 [4]

Checking controls, showing youngsters the way and then collecting all the controls in from the open fell. A good days training. Credit to FVO crowd for putting on a great weekend!

Note

Looking at white and yellow course today - what an amazing number of talented young FVO'ers coming through!
FVO has a bright future...all being welll.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]

Hanging controls with Rog on Touch again - this time in the woods - with the heavier trestle bars!

Orienteering race 22:30 [5]

Scottish Sprint Champs.
Got off to a great start but got well caught out on two later route choices and bumbled the end - running straight past a control when I could see the one beyond it (which some kids had moved).
Not my day. But it was Roscos!

Easy Run warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Great evening - great area!

Note
(rest day)

My old best mate Kev came to visit and then Doug Doug and so I didn't even do any gardening!

Fell Race race 42:57 [5]

Dumyat Fell Race
http://www.sports.stir.ac.uk/news-events/index.php
Despite not feeling brill I did actually enjoy tonight. It was hard to get my legs working up the hill (it's usually my lungs) and my HR wouldn't let me go over 172, normally up to 180.
But it was great coming downhill and I managed to keep a similar distance from Gary.
Some excellent results from a massive FVO turnout - well done lads - some excellent results and well done lasses - this might tunr into THE club fellrace!

Easy Run warm up/down 30:00 [3]

Note
(sick)

Felt ill yesterday and woke up run down with a cold sore and feeling generally rubbish.
I want to get out tonight - it's the first of FVO's summer Soup and Run events (from our house) so I'll see how I feel.

Run 1:11:00 [3]

Despite feeling a bit rough I managed an enjoyable run with the FVO gang from home and down the Glen.

Run 40:00 [4]

Today was Ivor Noot's Memorial at Ogden Water.

What a day, over 200 people I reckon.
After a wander into the forest to "Ivor's Knoll" and some brief words from Jon Emberton we paid our respects to a great man.

Following straight on there was an orienteering option (Ivor's favourite routes) or Ivor's terrain run and of course I took the latter with about 50 others - and it was fabby!

Back to the Noots for lunch and chats with lots of blasts from the pasts!

A great day, thanks Paulette.
Thanks Ivor.
