Pilates 1:15:00 [3]

FVO Pilates & Strength & Conditioning.
It's been 4 weeks since I was last here and I'd forgotten how to lead a session and how to do most of the exercises!
Many thanks to Brian for the last 2 sessions as caretaker.
And thanks to Dixie and the map workouts - Crathes Castle this week.

Orienteering race 38:00 [5]

BOC Relays.
Got fired up because it was FVO 2nd team against the First team!
And how close it was! Jamie had a great run to come back about a minute down on Ross, I went off hard and was soon caught by a pack but we could all make use of Roger in the distance (thanks Man!). When we hit the tricky two at the far end everybody else disappeared (funny that!) and I was on my own again until Duncan came flying past me and then I was with Ed Catmur for the last few - stayed safe rather than tried to get in front of him to secure the place for Jon.
Pleased with my run and how strong i felt out there - just need some speed work to get me right for the properly timed events in April and May now!

Orienteering race 1:21:00 [5]

British Orienteering Champs.
Warmed up OK and kind of got myself worked up for it. New I had to be clean and run solidly for a good performance.
Glad I took path options for the early part of the course and saved something for the latter half. Clean apart from at 9,10,11 and last 2 where the map was rubbish. My gel at 50 minutes worked really well and I first cramped on the run-in.
5th! very pleased to b in front of Roger and Andy (even though they both had valid excuses) and less than 2 minutes behind the real winner - Richard Barret. The first 3 were just kids.

Run warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Note
(rest day)

Meant to go for a run at lunch time but I have an ulcer and sore gums so best not to.
It's not like I'm gonna win the British anyway, for many reasons, but mainly because I can't run fast enough in that southern jessie terrain.

Note
(rest day)

Easing up for what could be my worst British Champs result ever.
I am very fat at the mo ;-P

Run 1:03:00 [3]

Steady headlamp run with the FVO crowd from Uni.
Feeling tired and stiff from yesterday's effort, but pleased to have done this.
Good food, banter and wine at the Westy after, as alway!

Run hills 1:01:00 [5]

First day back and I was chomping at the bit for this session.
Until it started!
Murder Hills with headlamp with Jon and Ross. I seriously blew a gasket mid session and was a heap of mash potato at the end!
