Orienteering race 49:50 [4] 8.0 km (6:14 / km)

Barcelona City Race.
Tired after 3 days of touristing and subsequent drinks/late nights but up for a show-down with the boys. Started OK and went hard but steady for the interesting first half all in the old town. Got bored thereafter and lost the will to live on a long leg section at the end - not fit enough to go hard. James well in front with Monro 90 secs ahead but not enough to get me overall.

Great few days away with a great set of guys. One big daft, happy family. Great to let your hair down, be in good company and catch up on the last few years. Same again please!

Orienteering race 29:46 [4] 3.8 km (7:50 / km)

A hilly middle urban race up near the Olympic velodrome on the edge of Barcelona. I ran OK apart from one mistake when in oxygen debt which costs me over a minute. Breathing through my arse on the climb back from the underground station! James in front again. Andy and Chris got Uddered! ;-)

Run 35:00 [2]

In Barcelona! After a long day touristing we jogged up to the event centre and back and took part in the micro-sprint orienteering. Two short indoor micro courses of 3-4 minutes each. Took me a while to get into my stride on the first one, better on the second. James still kicked my butt.

Barcelona is absolutely amazing for taps and tiny bars! We typically overdid out first night last night - ending up zig-zagging down alleyways, dive bombing rubbish piles and generally being drunk and daft. Amazing beer (and Vermouth!) in great quantities backed up by piles of tapas! Yum!

Run 41:54 [3] 8.07 km (5:12 / km)

Usual work interval route. I might be ready to do intervals on this by Mid November!

Worked hard, tried to keep posture, ITBs understandably tight after the weekend. I have plenty of work to do....
