Run 50:30 [3] 8.7 km (5:48 / km) +200m 5:12 / km

At HQ for the day to meet with ESRI. Managed to get in my old haunt run from an early lunch start. Love this run - pretty darned tough. Worked well and managed to bound the steps. Nice and mild again.

Run 37:00 [3]

Home from a Communication Meeting in Edinburgh early so no excuse not to run. Need some hills so went to the Gathering Stane. Muddy as.
But exceedingly mild - 18.5 !!!
AS to be expected I had no energy and was very non-bouncy.

Orienteering race 1:17:00 [3] 7.0 km (11:00 / km)

VHI M45 - Inshriach North
Pretty ominous start by nearly missing my start time (a lot further than 1.2k I imagined). Proceeded to use my compass to no 1 and got confused by a parallel hill (I blame old magnetic north on map and slight wrong position of the start kite - but then I would try blame someone else for my crapness).

Going OK thereafter but not feeling the love in the body for the terrain or the map. Then I simply went awol at 12. Tried to follow the big ride, joined it as it continued and turned off where I though I should and I then entered the Bermuda triangle. I was so convinced the control was misplaced I almost quit and ran on. But I though I'd better try relocating and finding it - low and behold I did, but after losing 12 minutes it was mentally game over. I was a broken man on the return legs.

Feck. Let the side down big time. Feck.

Splitzbrowser says it all - over 2 minutes lots at no1 and 12 at no 12. Tool!

Orienteering race 34:00 [4]

VHI Relays in team three, second leg.
Went out hard, caught Ben S but couldn't quite pass him until we had the one gaffle on the whole course and I was able to come back in about a minute ahead and look like I'd had a storming run (10th to 4th) when actually I felt pants and was just hanging on.
Gemma Karatay had a stormer of final leg which made our team look event better! Pulling us up to 2nd spot.

Beautiful day, venue, planning etc - very memorable.
Walked back to Grantown because it was so nice.

Orienteering 1:16:43 [3] 7.23 km (10:37 / km)

Day off. Trip to Touch to see what it's like. And it was one of those days..... I run through shit, windblow, clearfell and head-high bracken so the elite fairies don't have to do it later on...... 10 minutes of nice, 65 minutes of ming.
