3 PM

Run 20:00 [1]

Newton PS Running Club
A jog down to Holmehill and back was all I could muster and that hurt!
27 kids having lots of fun doing terrain hill sprint relays :-)

Fell Race race 46:00 [5] 7.8 km (5:54 / km) +426m 4:38 / km

Dumyat Hill Race.
Mmmmm, wasn't sure how my achilles tendonitis would cope but pretty keen to have a go. As it happened the diuscomfort subsided pretty quickly, or rather, was masked by lots of other discomfort! Had eaten too close to the race amd wanted to chunder all the way up the climb - this held me back a little, but more that the legs wouldn't work as hard as I'd like them to :-)
Terribly painful, breaking, downhill trying to catch Jon X ahead but he was chasing(and catching) Claire W so I never got near.
No times yet so a guess.
45:54 in 2017 and 46:23 in 2013 (nothing respectable since 2012 so I'm keen to know my true time :-)

45:45 - Get in! I'm getting older, but not necessarily any slower :-)

Orienteering race 38:23 [4] 5.4 km (7:06 / km) +150m 6:14 / km

BOC Relays Middleton Park Woods.
Great venue, promising area but map not really up to the job.
I struggled with the map clarity in places and the irregular path detail and vegetation mapping. Let's just say it wasn't my day. Thankfully Rog and Will were their usual brilliant and 2nd behind the mighty SYO was achieved.

Note
(rest day)

Walked Matthew up to the Near Start and Hannah to the String but not much else today. Achilles is doing OK so hapy to run tomorrow.

Chuffed with Matthew - Bronze on M10A !! Although all the boys were cuffed by two better W10s (Charlotte Champman and Ella Baxter!).

Orienteering race 14:26 [4] 3.0 km (4:49 / km)

BOC Mixed Sprint Relays. 3rd leg for the 3rd team.
Loved this, attacked the course and, although I wasn't particularly clean, I was running hard. Very mixed gaffles today - I don't think it was actually a fair race given the number and different length of gaffles.
