Run around Pelton, looking at control sites. Basically just did the medium red with a couple of others thrown in. Was pretty slow, but was navigating alright. A bit frustrating having to find black tape at the control sites, a couple of places it ruined the 'flow'. Legs felt okaay.

Wanted to go for a gentle jog today, but it didn't happen. Still unsure bout the right leg...had two consecutive nights where i had to pound the pavement to get the train at uni, and i think that aggrevated it a bit (you know your pretty broken when you hav to ice your leg after runnin to the train). Havent been runnin since to find out...but yea. Spose i cant complain too much, wat im doin now is still a lot nore satisfying than nothing.

Bit of a longer one - didn't take the Garmin so dunno how far it ended up. Down the freeway (45min) to killingworth (the area used by HMBA) went around there for bout 1hr30min. Really enjoyed all the single trail goodness...the only problem was deciding which one to take. Was feeling a pretty tired toward the end of the bush riding, but felt good enough on the ride back up the freeway.

Morning ride to uni. Was feelin pretty good, but whilst waiting for some clearly biased traffic lights, I got a flat. Nothing ruins a ride more than a flat (cept prolly bein hit by a car, which in turn causes a flat...but even then at least you have a good story). Fixed it and got on my way, but it really killed my mojo. To cap things off, there was no hot water left in the showers.

Night ride home with Dad. These rides are always cruisy, cause Dad has a slow bike (to put it nicely). Only started my watch bout 2mins in, but even with that added i think that is a PB for the ol man.

Since oval = death by boredom, decided to try and mix it up a bit. My inspiration came from an exercise used on a newcastle junior camp, where you are handed a random map, have to start in the centre of the circle and then head to the outside of the circle in the same direction as you would exit the control on the map. You then proceed to run around the outside of the circle till you get back to where you started, go back to the centre and do the same for the next control. So i did the same thing with a map of Badja, except: didn't run around the oval for every control (20 controls!), instead estimated distance of the leg and ran half of that. (8km course) planned each leg as i ran round the oval. Ran all of it, cept where i couldn't read the rock detail in the control circle (approx 100m total). It definitly took my mind of running round the oval, tho it was hard toward the end to keep concentrating on the map.

A run before uni. 10min walk to the oval, ran 400 / 600 / 800 / 1000 then back down again with approx 100m walk between each, 5min walk for warm down. Felt more like a proper training session, tho im gettin pretty tired of just goin round the oval - very keen to start running the bush trails again.

Still feelin pretty blocked up, but a lot better than the last two days. Went for a ride around the local bush and realised it has been a while since i hav really looked around since they blocked / fenced off heaps of areas. A fence had been cut that lead out to wat used to be a good area, but it was fairly impossible to cross the marsh due to lack of use and the recent rain. I discovered this about half way across...at about the same time i also noticed the water in the marsh - polluted does not even begin to describe it!! Needless to say i expect some toenails to be dropping off (hopefully not the whole foot) in the coming weeks. Anyways the rest of the ride was fairly uneventful, found some good tracks but they are all short and hard to get time up around. Didn't feel that bad out there, but as soon as i stopped all the icky cold / flu-ness came back again :(
