Friday Dec 31

skate skiing 1:07:36 [4]
ahr:164 max:185
skate skiing, working on my V2, its coming along. What a beautiful day!!
snowshoe running 1:14:12 [4]
ahr:159 max:181 shoes: Asics 1090
Running cross country through the woods, pretty darn tough when the snow is really deep, my running did slow to a hike at times, but my heart rate didnt come down! Followed several animal tracks, and suddenly noticed that a few were going in the same direction, so I followed them over a hill, and I came to an animal feed basket! It was incredible to see all the animal tracks for all direction that came to this spot. I was probably the only other human that had been there besides the one who puts the food out for the wild animals. Pretty cool!

Thursday Dec 30

running (mixed off/on trail) 51:24 [3]
ahr:161 max:177 shoes: Mizuno
Running on the foot paths they make in the snow, so that the walker dont walk on the ski tracks, which is actually good running, you almost dont realize your running on snow.
skate skiing 49:36 [3]
ahr:143 max:188
Did an afternoon loop and Marc gave me tips to improve my technique.

vacation = training camp?!?!

Wednesday Dec 29

snowshoe running 1:07:56 [4]
ahr:157 max:187 shoes: Asics 1090
I have vacation, which means I traveled to the eastern alps of Switzerland, near St. Moritz where Marc's family has an appartment. Marc and I ran around with shoeshoes in the woods near by. There is A LOT of snow, it was fun, but also tough!

Monday Dec 27

aquajogging 52:36 [3]
ahr:123 max:162 shoes: bare foot
overlunch, man did it make me tired this afternoon!

2 x (3 x 3' intervals, 3 different stides) does that make sense?

Sunday Dec 26

running (mixed off/on trail) 45:26 [3]
ahr:146 max:174 shoes: Asics 1090
Running at dusk in fresh snow, with Marc trotting next to me. Nice way to finnish a Christmas weekend!
indoor bike (hometrainer) 22:35 [2]
ahr:136 max:148 shoes: Nike Free
One episode of "Friends" without commercials lasts exactly 22 min and 35 seconds.

Used my new shoes (xmass present from Marc!!) called Nike Free. These shoes are supposed to simulate being bare foot. They feel great, I have been wearing them indoors all weekend. I plan to use them for indoor activity such as biking, and strength workout, plus "laufschlule and fuss gymnastics" don't know how to discribe that in english:-/
core strength workout 10:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1090
the short version of my strength workout, but at least I did something!

Saturday Dec 25

snowshoe running 2:03:34 [4]
ahr:148 max:185 shoes: Asics 1090
At my mom's for Christmas and went to the Justistal for some cross country skiing, but I didnt have any skis with me, so I snow shoed instead. It was tough running with them, especially on my hip flexor muscle. I took them off for the way down (there was that much snow) and my feet felt so light and small:-)

Friday Dec 24

aquajogging 55:00 [3]
ahr:145 max:162 shoes: bare foot
Aquajogging up here in Magglingen after work, before heading to my mom's for Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Thursday Dec 23

indoor bike (hometrainer) 42:25 [3]
ahr:136 max:166 shoes: Asics 1090
Riding on the hometrainer in our new home, how romantic!

Tuesday Dec 21

running (mixed off/on trail) 41:35 [4]
ahr:167 max:195 shoes: Asics 1090
There is a bit of snow up here, and it has made running on the trails significantly difficult. We are expected to get more snow this week, which means either I have to bring xc skis to work, or do some indoor training.

Monday Dec 20

running (mixed off/on trail) 42:45 [3]
shoes: Adi Star
Running at my new home in Schüpfen! Nice forest, too bad it was dark!

Sunday Dec 19

Note
Marc and I moved to an village outside of Bern, called Schüpfen! A nice, typical Swiss village with cows, a bakery and woods all around!

I had NO time whatsoever to train this weekend, but at least I carried boxes, and furniture up and down stairs all weekend. I certainly have sore muscles!!

Hopefully my training will get more on track soon, but my life is a little unorganised right now, so that has to come first!

Friday Dec 17

aquajogging 40:00 [2]
ahr:136 max:171 shoes: bare foot
Aquajogging at lunch with Luzia. We both devoured a calzone afterwards and hurried back to work. My last workday here is the 29th of December and it makes me sad. I will start working in a hospital in January and I know the environment will be very different, and there will certainly be no time for training over lunch!

Wednesday Dec 15

indoor bike (hometrainer) 25:00 [2]
shoes: bare foot
fun fun
treadmil 20:00 [4]
ahr:149 max:196 shoes: Asics 1090
Never run on a treadmil for a workout before. Interesting, I played with the speeds and ran at threshold pace for 5 minutes. felt good to run fast.
core strength workout 22:00 [3]
shoes: bare foot
the usual!

Monday Dec 13

running (mixed off/on trail) 45:28 [4]
ahr:158 max:182 shoes: Mizuno
running with two from work in the dark. Nice to have company. I felt slow on the hills.
core strength workout 30:00 [3]
shoes: bare foot
core strength and legs.

Sunday Dec 12

Orienteering 52:19 [3]
ahr:146 max:176 shoes: Adi Star
In the woods again, I just can't wait to be in the woods again, lalalala lalala :-)

Marc followed me around and we did some technical training. I should always orienteer as if Marc was behind me. I could really concentrate well. Orienteering training alone is sometimes hard, I find I can't "get into it."
indoor bike (hometrainer) 50:00 [2]
ahr:123 max:141 shoes: bare foot
watching Friends on the computer.

Saturday Dec 11

Orienteering 1:02:35 [3]
ahr:152 max:183 shoes: Adi Star
XC ski weekend in France with no snow. Luckily there are nice maps in the same area and I could go run in the woods. Nice to be orienteering again.

Friday Dec 10

running (mixed off/on trail) 48:49 [3]
ahr:152 max:182 shoes: Asics 1090
I couldnt sleep last night (lots on my mind) and so I am super tired today. Everytime I speak with someone here at work I mix english into my german. I thougtht going for a run would pep me up, but instead I am ready for a nap now.

Thursday Dec 9

gym workout 25:00 [2]
15' on the bike and 10' of rowing. Didn't have enough time to do more.
core strength workout 20:00 [3]
after my cardio warm up, did my usual routine.

Wednesday Dec 8

running (mixed off/on trail) 45:01 [3]
ahr:165 max:183
running

Tuesday Dec 7

running (mixed off/on trail) 43:52 [3]
ahr:158 max:180
We are in the fog here at the institute, but after about 5 minutes of running up from here I broke out of the clounds to a wonderful blue sky. Man was it amazing. I could see all the alps, with a blanket of clouds under them. Sure brightened up my day!

Sunday Dec 5

indoor bike (hometrainer) 55:36 [3]
ahr:121 max:136
Good simple training on the bike. Didn't push, watched friends on the computer.

Saturday Dec 4

intervals 1:30 [5]
sprinting for the train... I made it:-)

Friday Dec 3

indoor bike (hometrainer) 30:00 [3]
ahr:151 max:168
got out of work late, and went to the gym quick before going to a party... wahoo!
core strength workout 30:00 [3]
ahr:130 max:190
core strength routine plus some weights for the legs.

Thursday Dec 2

running (mixed off/on trail) 41:26 [3]
ahr:154 max:173
Running over lunch. Nice to be out in the sun. Below us is a lake of clouds, glad not to be in the fog.

Wednesday Dec 1

core strength workout 30:00 [2]
Went to the movies instead of the swimming pool, not great for my training, but good for my social life:-) A little strength workout was better than nothing.
