It's been a very busy week, like it probably has been for most of you, as always before christmas. Marc and I have had something going on every evening this week and I wasn't able to find any time on Tuesday and Wednesday to do some sports.
Today I could get a quick run in before getting all dolled up for the Neuchatel sports awards gala. I really like dressing up once in a while and it an evening I was looking forward to.

I want to try to do the interval plan that I made for juniors in the regional team, so I knew what stood before me: a pyramid at threshold tempo. I did 3min, 4min, 5min, 4min, 4min with 45 sec break. The last one was supposed to be 3min, but the break before it was too long, since I wanted get to a flat section, decided to do the interval a bit longer.

The evening was wonderful and such an event! Fancy, fancy! We arrived and received champagne with a chocolate truffle in it. The best news of the evening was when Pascal Buch won the junior award. I have seem him grow up and watched how his sporting career has taken off. He has always been one of those athletes that is easy to work with and you know he thinks about what you say and does with it what he finds best for himself, because he has a knack for this performance sports stuff. That has been clear for a long time. He makes me very proud and I can't wait to see what he is capable in the future. The icing on the cake was than when Marc won the Athlete of the year award. We weren't expecting that, so many athletes deserve this prize! I already had a feeling that he may win when I realised who was sitting at our table. We were obviously at the VIP table. Than the chief redactor of the news paper, who was sitting next to me, asked me if my husband will win the prize tonight. I said I didn't know. He smiled and said, well normally I have a spot at the table with the winner, so it could well be that he is going to win :-) Everyone at the table was very nice and it was quiet entertaining talking to them. Marc couldn't join the table until the prize giving was over, so I had a lot of practice in french (and also a lot of wine ;-)).

T25 Cardio core

This basically involved jumping for 25 min straight, when not jumping that different variations of the plank that keeps your heart race high. I wore my heart rate monitor because I was wondering what it is during these workouts. Max 180 is pretty good. I am going to be sore tomorrow.

running 47:04 [2] 6.77 km (6:57 / km) +60m 6:40 / km

Grandmaman and Grandpapa offered to babysit this morning before they went skiing, so I went on a run in the forest here in Chapelle. I ran on the xc trails, which are so hard packed that you don't sink in and the snow has good grip under your feet because it's very cold during the night here. No one is skiing on these tracks anymore because there are patches of rocks and dirt every once in a while, so it was ok to run on them. I really enjoyed running and felt so much better afterwards (Matti started a tantrum/crying spell at 6:45 this morning that lasted until 8am when breakfast was ready, needed a short break from him).

We are in Chapelle du Bois for our annual ski club weekend and we found snow! There is still quiet a bit of snow here, but it's so hard and thin in spots that they cannot do the tracks anymore. We found out that the tracks are not bad pretty close to here by car, so I went there after lunch. It was really beautiful and in the fields the sun felt wonderfully warm.

T25 Ab intervals

I really like this one. Feels like I get the best core workout of all the videos, but it's not as intense as the others. I really like doing these and I can visually see a different in my strength, one by the muscles that are appearing on my core and also by my ability to do the exercises longer and with more control. It's motivating.
