indoor bike (hometrainer) 1:00:59 [1]

I am pretty sore from the last two days, so I decided to do some biking instead of running. Watching xc skiing racing while doing this, so I was entertained.

Intervals with the cadre

This Tuesday night training was again a combo strength-speed training. My group did 3 x 1200m with strength training every 400m.
The sets of exercises were the same as last time. I felt much faster and stronger on the 400m, but I think the times were very similar. My sore throat didn't get worse because of this, so that is a good sign. But it also didn't go away. No complaints though, I don't feel sick and I am starting to feel strong in my running.

strength 4:30 [3]

3 series of 3 exercises done for 30" per 1200m.
1st round was 1) burpies, 2) side plank turns, 3) glue bridge
2nd round was 1) running planks, 2) squat jumps, 3) Russian twists
3rd round is the same as the first.

running 46:55 [2] 7.12 km (6:35 / km) +216m 5:43 / km

I was a lucky girl and got to FaceTime with Sam for a while today, but I could see the sun setting behind me out the window, so I got antsy and said goodbye so I could run during daylight hours. I am happy the days are getting longer again.
Why is it that it takes me 30 minutes of running before I start to feel decent? Ok, I've been a little sick, but I think my age is really showing on this aspect. Same thing with intervals, I don't start to feel good until half way through. Oh to be young again ;-)

aerobics/strength (Freeletics) 20:00 [2]

Ok, I am a sucker... and decided to try this Freeletics thing. I talked to Sam about it and she was enthusiastic, so I thought why not see what all the hype is about.
I did my assessment and than one day's workout. Everything except the burpies was fine. I really can't do burpies (or at least how they want me to do them, I usually cheat, I guess). Not sure when I will get in all the workouts; I should probably do some of this when the kids are asleep, but I tend to take a nap as well... Oh and T25 is much more fun. I like the music and the enthusiasm of Sean's instructions etc, but it's too up beat and loud to do while the kids are asleep, so maybe Freeletics can fill that void (ha! The kids sleeping simultaneously is not a void, it's a welcomed blessing) .

running 47:39 [2] 6.49 km (7:21 / km) +186m 6:25 / km

This was a bit of a disappointment. I haven't trained in two days because I have a strong sore throat and I was hoping to not get a cold. Today I really wanted to get out and do something, because it was beautiful weather and even if I am a little sick, I just need to get out and run every few days or so. I had big plans to do a long jog up to Mt. Racine before the snow comes back, and I put on our Salomon vest, which water, some munchies, and my phone. I had to realise pretty quickly that I was not healthy enough to do a long run. I stopped and walked for a while, just feeling the sun on my face. After a few minutes, I found the energy to continue running. I am hoping I don't actually get sick and my body can recover quickly. At least Lena started sleeping through the night again (3 times in a row!) after at least a month of troubles and interrupted sleep.

Awesome interval training with Lucia, my sister in-law. We did 4 x 8min with 2 min break. Oh man was this tough, especially because I was trying to keep up with her. I think I worked the hardest I have in 2015 today. A good way to end the year. Too bad that afterwards I was very tired, but still drank a bit too much champagne and wine, so that I had a pretty bad sore throat now the first two days of the new year. Oops.
