e-biking with chariot 1:40:53 [1] 27.92 km (3:37 / km) +640m 3:15 / km

A new training type! I am so happy to be able to use an e-bike for when I have the kids with me. The chariot weighs about 15 kilo, Lena about 10kgs and Matti is 16kgs. So I cannot get up most of the longer climbs around here or even some of the short steep stuff. So, having an e-bike to be able to go further and not feel limited is so much fun. Today was the first time I used this combo to actually get a workout in. I am not in Scuol as planned, because Lena has chickenpox... she obviously can not go to daycare being as sick and uncomfortable as she is. We have no back-up plan for Friday or Monday, since Marc's parents are away and my mom is also part of the JWOC organisation, both Marc's siblings are on vacation. I cannot not believe how impossibly Murphy's Law it is that the ONE time we have no babysitter (we have always found a solution with someone since having kids) the kids get a horrible infectious, but also painfully uncomfortable disease. I have to have my subsistute take over all of my responsibilities at JWOC until next Monday evening. I was totally bummed. But today turned out to be a very interesting day. In the morning, after dropping Matti off at the crèche (he only had the pox in his mouth and recovered quickly), Lena needed a nap, so I drove to the top of the Chasseral. There we got out and enjoyed the view, had a snack together. When wanting to drive home, Lena fell asleep again, so I took another detour over Vue des Alpes, so that the nap could have a substantial length.
This bike ride happen after lunch, since our cleaning lady was at our apartment and Lena wouldn't be able to sleep well if she was there. A creative way for her to have a good nap and me to get some exercise. I kept the assistance low for almost everything, just once I needed a little extra juice for a steep climb. It really is a great low-intensity workout!

running 1:51:57 [2] 13.66 km (8:12 / km) +629m 6:40 / km

After a very stressful 24 hours of organising everything needed for my absence at JWOC (see next post) and taking care of sick kids, Marc told me to go somewhere beautiful and not think of anything but enjoying being in nature. I am so grateful he gave me this time, I really needed and could enjoy every step along the way. It's been kind of rough lately.
Physically, I finally felt good again after feeling like death every time I ran for the last week. That was nice and gave me more confidence that I will enjoy SOW in a week.

With Lucia. This was fun:-) We did have to carry our bikes over a fence because we took one trail too early, but otherwise we always stayed on our bikes, got up all steep hills and technical stuff too. My quads were getting tired at the end of the big climb.

running 31:30 [2] 4.67 km (6:45 / km) +134m 5:54 / km

My dropbox drama did not resolve itself, so I ended up staying home from a family thing to work for JWOC because I had to recreate a bunch of files :-( Aft the end of the day, I got myself out the door before Marc and the kids got home. My legs have been so dead lately. This run was literally a fight the whole way. Not sure why I feel so bad.

strength 10:17 [0]

So weak.
