classic xc skiing 1:37:13 [2] 13.92 km (6:59 / km) +180m 6:34 / km

Yesterday the weather was -6°C and beautiful blue skis, unfortunately, today the weather was 1°C and downpour rain. I was surprised that skiing still went so well, at least classic was great. I put on my light running rain jacket, so that was helpful as well and if you didn't stop, it wasn't cold. I left basically directly after breakfast, so the trees were still covered in snow and it felt very winter-y, but by the time were we driving home, the rain had melted all the snow off the trees.

skate skiing 48:22 [1] 8.23 km (5:52 / km) +95m 5:33 / km

Traditional weekend in Chapelle des Bois, this morning Chloé and François joined us for a ski. Chloé first showed Matti a bit how to ski while Marc was out with François. Once he came back, Chloé and I went for a loop together. She skis really well for being 7 months pregnant!

skate skiing 1:36:22 [2] 16.07 km (6:00 / km) +198m 5:39 / km

In the afternoon, Marc went out after lunch and I stayed with Lena during her nap. Matti could play with his cousins in the snow. Once Marc got home I jetted away, but I knew it would be dark in about 45min, so I took the headlamp. The first half was during a wonderful sunset and then the 2nd half I needed my headlamp.
I may have improved my technique over the last few years or I am in better shape than I have been for a long time, because skate skiing never felt so easy.

running 40:06 [3] 5.5 km (7:17 / km) +143m 6:27 / km

After the stomach flu we had a lot of catching up to do on life, so I didn't have time to exercise for 4 days. Luckily my mom wanted to work on a Christmas present with Matti and asked to come over during Lena's nap. This was a perfect opportunity for me to slip out for a run. Felt great to go outside again:-)

Note

Marc, Lena and I all got Matt's stomach flu during the night from Sunday to Monday. Matti threw up every 30min for 7 hours from Friday night to Saturday morning, so we all joined in the same chorus, of course. Talk about horror film moments... ugg. Now everyone is slowly getting better, but I have never had to do so much laundry and I can't wait for life to start to feel normal again. It's been a whirlwind.
