A beautiful day (finally after so many days of pouring rain) and a beautiful forest to set controls in. On my way up to the parking I heard an interview from someone who said something that really stuck with me. He said that he had to learn to "see the forest despite all the trees". Interesting problem. Kind of cliché just before going orienteering, but so true in some many situations. I feel like this happens so often in people who have lives like you and I, everything is actually just great, and maybe even a bit too good for our own good, so we don't see the forest anymore. Appreciate and stop complaining/wanting more is such a good lesson.
Anyhow, I went and set controls and I saw the forest and enjoyed the amazing sunset on the way home! The first few controls were hard to set and I felt insecure for a while, but then I got into a rhythm and didn't need to verify many of the controls, just into the circle, bang, and keep going. Nice feeling, but I also know the forest very well. I set 24 controls in total. The first control I set which was tricky was also the first control on the course at night and it seems like they all searched for it. The depression is small and really in the green and at night you probably couldn't see it at all. I was hoping they would see the reflector and hung it high to help.

Rest day. Was with Lena all day so not many possibilities to get out for a run. Could have gone at 7pm, when Marc got home from work, but it was dinner time and I had a few things to do once the kids were asleep. With the small cold I have it's better to rest a bit anyway.

A longer run, but I am very tired and this was tough work. I think I am getting a cold and my body is fighting it. At first it was tough to find the energy to run, then I felt pretty good and at the end I got tired. After showering I was cold for another 1.5hr before warming up. Need to go to bed early tonight.

My mom looked after Matti and Lena while I went to yoga. Thanks mom! Afterwards we all went to IKEA together. First we had lunch, what a great price-quality ratio. Then the kids went to the daycare for 1.5 hours while my mom and I did the deciding on what I need to the office. I was shocked at how fast 1.5 hours go by. We got basically everything I need and we managed it all into the car. Pfew.

Running with a friend. Luckily she wrote me a message 5 min before our meeting time that she would be 5 minutes late, because I had totally forgotten that we said we would go for a run together. I was at my computer drinking a coffee and working when she wrote, so I jumped up and changed. Just made it in time. Felt better than expected because I still have sore muscles and thought it would be hard to keep up, but it was totally fine and I felt pretty peppy.
