Intervals with my juniors. Today everyone seemed to listen when I spoke... I guess yelling every once in a while is a good way to get their attention :-/
I stole this workout from OK Linné, since Sam did this a few weeks back and i thought it looked like fun.
10 x 1min with 30 sec break
10 x 40 sec with 20 sec break
10 x 30 sec with 15 sec break.

This was really tough. Man oh man! I stayed with Florence and Julianne, which I am pretty proud of, but I got a side stich during the last few 1min reps and I really suffered after that. Only when starting the 30sec intervals did I get a 2nd wind.

Tuesday night orienteering training. I enjoyed the challenge of not having the trails on the map a lot, especially since I know the map well, this way you had to concentrate more and it made it more fun.
I guess I wasn't able to inspire my teenagers today with the same concept. I found 6 (!!) of them together in the forest walking and chatting, at least they were going to the controls, but man oh man was I angry. After giving a long speech in the middle of the forest I sent them home. I think I made my point.

Note

Monday's are pretty hard to get any type of exercise in. Would have been in the mood to go run, which wasn't the case for most of last week. Too bad I couldn't, but Marc works long hours on Monday and I have Lena all day without babysitting possibility. Would have had to go running with her, but she needed a good nap in her bed, so that wasn't possible either.

Orienteering race 1:00:42 intensity: (18:59 @1) + (5:56 @2) + (11:28 @3) + (24:19 @4) 7.46 km (8:08 / km) +384m 6:28 / km

We took part in the UBOL relay in Plan du Bois today. It's a fun concept, you have kids on the first leg (up to 10 years old) and they do a course marked that takes about 2min to run and your kid tags off to you. Lena ran in my team, so I got to tag off when she made it around the loop. This meant I was a bit behind most of the teams, but I didn't mind so much, I don't really like mass-starts. I worked hard on the long uphill to 1 and 2 (trying to warm up, since I had about 2min time to warm-up after coordinating 6 teams, talking to the juniors and getting Lena off on her loop). I was suprised to catch a group already at the 2nd control. They were lost and so I followed suite and also searched for the control for 2 mins. I wonder if I would have searched for the control if I had been alone, I don't think I would have lost as much time. It's so distracting to have people wandering around in the zone. After that I also bobbled number 3 trying to get away from the group I caught at 2, but I stayed ahead even with my bobble. I did a pretty good race from then on out and I kept catching people in the control circle. It was kind of tricky in the green and people where loosing time.
I came to the finish in 14th out of about 30, so given the fact I basically left last, that was a pretty good placement. I also caught and passed one man and one junior in our club, which is great for bragging rights:-)

Lena needed a nap and the 10 mins home with the bike wouldn't be long enough, so Marc and I did a tour along the lake. It was a nice way to cool down from the race and I felt my legs working quiet a bit actually (I kept the e-bike on low).

A lovely run up on one of our closest mountains. It felt so hot down at the lake earlier today, that I could not motivate myself to go running from home. So I jumped in the car and drove to this spot. It was well worth it. Beautiful atmosphere in the Jura right now with lots and lots of wild flowers.

A nice yoga session with some tough bits. Felt my hips open up a bit which is really good.
