Orienteering (setting controls) 1:42:45 intensity: (1:18:47 @1) + (6:26 @2) + (12:04 @3) + (5:28 @4) 8.43 km (12:12 / km) +315m 10:16 / km

I ran to the forest where we had our night-O training, so about 35 min of this is pure running. Afterwards it was a slow slog in deep snow setting 23 controls with out seeing many features on the map, because everything is covered in snow. It was tough to set the controls and I had to double check each location with at least 2 other corresponding features to be sure. You just couldn't make out the small features on the map, so sometimes I really wasn't sure if I was 100% correct. After the training though Marc assured me that the controls were all correct. Yupiee!

skate skiing 15:00 [1] 1.8 km (8:20 / km)

Pulling Lena around a bit to watch Marc and Matti do the ski race. She got tired very quickly (because she hold the rope with her arms bent, I tried to show her how to do it with her arms stretched out and kind of hanging into the rope, so that your shoulders do the work, but she just kept bending her arms and holding on in a cramped up fashion, so of course she gets tired very quickly that way). Afterwards, I pulled her up a hill twice so she could ski down, but the snow was so slow that I almost had to pull her down as well ;-)

Marc gave me new skis!! An early bday present that I got to go test out today:-)

Went with Sandra Buchs on TĂȘte de Ran from Les Geneveys-sur-Coffrane where they live. It was really fun to do this with her and get back into it. My legs were really heavy, not feeling springy at all. The 2nd climb felt better and my downhill technique got much much better after the first 5min of being very hesitant. Had lunch at her place and then hurried off to Bern for the strength training in Bern the guys in the Sport Military take part in. I just helped with the training and didn't take part at all.
