Orienteering 1:33:33 [3] 5.1 km (18:21 / km)
shoes: Orienteering shoes
Another course at Barebones. This terrain had lots of depressions and very few continuous contours that could be used as handrails (such as reantrants). I got a little confused a couple times, though mostly I was just one depression to the side of the depression where the control was or something like that.
Orienteering 24:25 [3] 2.2 km (11:06 / km)
shoes: Orienteering shoes
A night-o. For the second control I tried to head down a trail from a clearing, but I ended up on another unmapped trail instead. I wasted a few minutes there, but the rest of the race went pretty well.
Orienteering 5:00 [3]
3-legged score-o. Holly and I were doing ok until the end when we sped up for the last control and then we started laughing and couldn't get coordinated again after that.

Friday Aug 31

Event: Barebones

Orienteering 54:55 [3] 4.9 km (11:12 / km)
shoes: Orienteering shoes
A long-o at Barebones. I didn't make any huge mistakes, I just had to see how the area was mapped and it was slow going through some of the green.

Thursday Aug 30

Running 24:35 [3] 2.5 mi (9:50 / mi)
shoes: Asics
slow jog around Haller Lake
Running Games 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Asics
It was a "fun day" at cross country, so after going for a run, we played sharks and minnows, blob tag, and then ultimate frisbee which all involve running, though not very intense.
Strength 15:00 [3]
wall-sits, push-ups, planks

Wednesday Aug 29

Running 29:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:21 / mi)
shoes: Asics
Running the cross-country course at Lincoln Park. We jogged the course though sped up on all the uphills. Even though this was an easy run, my body just felt really tired.
Running 5:00 [3]
shoes: Asics
practicing finishes at Lincoln Park. We were running 150-200 meters at about 80% several times.
rock climbing 1:00:00 [2]
I went rock-climbing with some friends in an indoor gym. My arms were already tired from push-ups at cross-country, so I didn't do as many climbs or as hard of ones as normal.

Tuesday Aug 28

Running 30:15 [3] 2.75 mi (10:59 / mi)
shoes: Asics
A 2.5-3 mile run from school to North Acres, a loop there, then around Haller Lake, up to Igraham (where we stopped and did a track workout) and then back to school.
Running 16:15 [3] 2.5 mi (6:29 / mi)
shoes: Asics
Working on pacing at a track.
The times we were aiming for were: 400 m in 2 min, 400 m in 1:50, 400 m in 1:30, 800 m in 3:00, 400 m in 1:40?, 200 m in 0:45?, 800 m in 3:20, 200 m in 0:40, 400 m in 1:30. We kept being a few seconds too fast, so we had to keep running more. There was about a minute rest between each. I haven't run around a track for a while (I've just been doing long slow distance), so my pacing was worse than normal. Running in a huge group of people makes it harder to pace as well.
soccer 1:30:00 [3]
soccer practice

Monday Aug 27

Running 44:00 [3] 4.0 mi (10:59 / mi)
shoes: Asics
We jogged the cross-country course at Lincoln Park and then did about 1/3 of it again, just trying to learn it. It's fairly flat.
Running hills 15:00 [3]
shoes: Asics
We ran up one of the hills on the course 3 times, and up a longer one twice.
Strength 15:00 [3]
push-up pyramid and abs exercises

Sunday Aug 26

Biking 51:00 [3]
I biked to Discovery Park, around, and back home. This was a good way to get exercise and give my shins some rest (not that they've been hurting, I've just been running a lot more this week than I have been the rest of the summer).
